Mark's P.O.V.

I can't believe what I just did. But worst of all I can't believe Lexie has a boyfriend. Gosh I hope that I didn't just end her relationship. I'll hate myself forever if I did. I was lying in the on-call room when my pager went off "911 at the pit all hands on deck." I quickly run to the put and put on a gown. The paramedics then came in with the first victim of the accident. "Female 27 hit her head on the windscreen,has possible head injuries we have been trying to get her back but we keep losing her she has possible kidney failure and her left leg is broken and her shoulder is dislocated. Oh and it's Dr.Lexie Grey." my brain suddenly shut off as I ran to her.Derek tried to stop me but I went past him and tears were falling down my cheeks. I kept whispering "Lex please wake up please". Suddenly I see Meredith standing there breaking down she then started screaming at me. "what did you do to my sister?" Derek then stops her and tells her what happened he then took her into an on-call room and help her calm down. Suddenly Owen tells Lexie to move so that they can take her into surgery. I sat in the Gallery watching down to see Dr.Bailey working on Lexie's kidney's,Callie relocating her shoulder and working on her broken leg. I look up to see who's working on her head injuries and see that Derek isn't there I quickly run down to the OR and ask Owen who's working on her head injuries and he says someone named Johnson. "Chief with all do respect I don't know this Johnson guy so I would appreciate if you'll let Derek I mean Dr.Shepherd work on her if not Derek then fly in Dr.Amelia Shepherd she is just as good as Derek." "Mark is she your family?" I shake my head indicating that my answer is no. "Is she your girlfriend or wife?" again I said no. "Then I'm afraid you don't have a say on who operates on her." "What if Meredith asks you to fly in Amelia will you then do it." "If you can get Dr.Grey or Dr.Shepherd's permission yes then I'll fly in Amelia.". As soon as he said that I quickly went to the waiting room where I see a crying Meredith rapped in Derek's arms. I walk closer and I can see Derek has been crying. He looks at me and I can feel the tears rolling down my cheeks as I ask him and Meredith to give me permission to fly in Amelia. They both agree and I hear Derek talking on the phone with Amelia. He then came back "Amelia said she'll take the first plane out to Seattle.". I obviously knew that Amelia wouldn't have a problem to come help Lexie she thought of her as a sister. I turned around to walk away when Meredith suddenly walked right next to me. "Mark,tank you for thinking about Amelia and Derek told me that you told her you loved her and I'm sorry for treating you like shut before." I just looked forward and let the tears roll down. "Yeah I told her I loved her and guess what was her response? I have a boyfriend that was her response." Meredith looked at me like I'm crazy. "Lexie doesn't have a boyfriend because she still loves you Mark she wanted to tell you but you were with Julia." I then decided to go to the OR where they are operating on Lexie to find it empty I quickly run up to recovery and ask for Lexie. The nurse on duty then gave me her room number and I ran to her room to find Meredith and Derek there with a Lexie full of machines and pipes and wires. I've never seen her this bad. Meredith suddenly looks up and sees me outside her window she then came out and stood next to me for like 2 minutes before talking. "Amelia said that the head injuries were way more serious than we thought and uhmm she might not make it." she says starting to cry. Derek then came out and said that I can have a minute before Thatcher arrives. I then went in and sat next to her bed. I gently took her hand and started crying. I can't remember how long I sat there but suddenly I heard Lexie groan. I quickly let go of her hand and was about to go call Meredith and Derek when I heard her voice. "Mark..." "Meredith is on her way we're gonna get you stabilized and you're gonna be okay." "Mark I'm... I'm dying." she starts breathing heavily. "No you're not." "Mmm I am. Please tell..." she starts crying. "tell Meredith that I love her,oh and that she was a good sister.Please tell my dad..." I can't stand seeing her like this.  "You're not dying. You're gonna be fine." "Hold my hand." "I'm not holding your hand because you're not dying." "Hold my hand." "No you're not dying.Do you hear me?You don't die today." I tell her and stand up ready to walk out but something stops me. I sat back down and hold her hand telling her how I feel. I can feel the tears forming in my eyes. "I love you." she shakes her head crying. "I do.I love you I've always been in love with you.I will always be in love with you." she suddenly smiles and says "yeah". "yeah.Which is why you have to stay alive.We...We...We can get married.And you're gonna become an amazing surgeon.And we're gonna have two or three kids." "So...Sofia can have siblings." "Yeah,a sister and two brothers.And..." she nods her head. "That's nice" "We're gonna be happy Lex.You and me we're gonna have the best live you and me.We're gonna be so happy So you can't die okay.You can't die. Because we're supposed to end up together.We're meant to be." I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. "Meant to be" she whispered and then the monitors began beeping Meredith,Derek and the nurse quickly ran in Meredith cried and Derek took me away while the nurse used the crash cart. "I love you" was all I could say and then after 10 minutes her heart rate came back.Thank God she's alive.
