The Date

Chapter 04

Mark's P.O.V.

It's been 3 months since Lexie and I finally got back together and I was thinking of purposing. I already have the perfect ring I just have to get a date to ask her. Then it hit me that we we're both off tonight. I then walked to the day care to check on Sofia and saw Derek and Meredith with Zola. I then greeted them and Sofia. We walked to the attending lounge together when I decided to ask their blessing. I took out the ring box and opened it. Meredith and Derek looked at me surprised. "I was hoping I could ask Lexie to marry me." "Really that's wonderful. She'll definitely love the ring." Meredith replies. We then walk into the attending lounge and I see Lexie there. I went over to her and kissed her. She kissed me back and then greeted Derek and Meredith. They then left leaving me alone with Lexie. "I was wondering if you have plans  tonight because I wanna take you on a date." "Oh really!Well yeah I'm free." "Great see you at the door at..." "19:30" I smile and give her one last kiss before heading out. Just as I walk out I get paged to the pit. "Male 36 has 3rd degree burns on the right side of his body and lost all the skin on his face." the prefix says. "Trauma one with Sloan" Owen says. The man I'm supposed to operate on isn't awake yet. Suddenly the monitor began to beep and I pushed an epie and started compressions when that didn't help I got a crash cart. I quickly gel the peddles. "Charge to 250.Clear." everyone removes their hands and I shock the young male. Nothing. "Charge 300.Clear." Still nothing. "Charge 350.Clear." still nothing dammit. "time of death 10:45" I quickly go back to Owen and get a new patient. A 10 year old girl that was in an accident and lost 35% of the skin on her face. I quickly took her to an OR and then fixed her face and stitched up her wounds after a 6 hour surgery I was finally ready to take a nap. About 1 hour later my pager went off. They needed a plastic consult. I then went to the patient's room and took a piece of the skin and sensed it in to the lab. I then went to the next room to stitch up a women's face who wouldn't let a intern touch their face. I then had to make dinner reservations at Lexie's favorite restaurant. Around 19:00 I was done for the day so I went to the attending lounge and got my stuff and then went home to fetch me a suite and Lexie a dress. Around 19:20 I saw Lexie in the attending lounge and gave her the dress. "Wow you look stunning." she smirked and then kissed me. "Oh well thank you mam." I then left her to get dressed waiting for her at the door.Not even 2 minutes later she was standing right next to me. "Wow you look very sexy tonight.Have any special plans for the evening or are you just feeling sexy." I joke with her. She then shakes her head and laughs at me. "Oh I don't know I think that would be the second option. How about you?" "Oh well that would be option 1.I have a hit date with a hot lady I think her name is also Lexie Grey." we share a kiss and then walk out to my car. At the car I opened the door for her and then closed as soon as she was in I then went to the drivers side. I then drove to Amorett Lexie's favourite restaurant. I quickly went to open the door for her and we end to our table. As we sat across from each other I asked her "Do you remember the first time we were here as a couple?" she smiles at me. "Yes I do it was the first time you met my father." we both laughed and took a sip of our champagne. Just then the waitress came by and took our orders. We then sat there just talking for 30 minutes until the waitress came back with our food I then excused myself and called Derek to hear if they were ready he then told me they are so then I went back and ate until my phone buzzed. Suddenly someone in the restaurant asked for a doctor and I immediately saw that it was the actress me and Derek rented with the life looking robot on the floor. Lexie as the person she is then went to them and said she's a doctor. She did compressions but that didn't work so she asked for a knife and cut open a piece of his chest and putting in a pipe with a bag to drain some blood. When she was about take out a needle and thread from her hand bag to close the guy up she saw something shinny and took it out seeing it's a ring she turned to face me and I suddenly took her hand and asked her "Lexie,I know who you are,and if you're going through your worst I want to go through it with you.You make me happier than anything I've ever known, and if I can have a part in making you happy again that's all I want to do. That's all I want to do for the rest of my life." I then kneeled down on one knee and asked her. "With that said Alexandra Caroline Grey will you let me make you happy again by marrying me?" I saw tears roll down her cheeks and she whispers "Yes Yes of course I'll marry you." I then stood up and kissed her. She then backs away "shoot the guy on the floor." I laugh at her and she looks at me with disbelief "It's a robot." she then laughed and kissed me. We then went to my apartment and made love the rest of the night.
