Chapter 16

Lexie's P.O.V.

It's been 1 year since the twins were born and Mark and I are very happy. Mark and I finally got the twins to sleep and we are getting ready for bed. "Can you believe it's already been a year since we got married and had the twins." I ask Mark as I went to lie on his chest. "Yeah it's been a crazy year but we got through it." Mark says kissing my hair then stroking it. I looked up at Mark. "I love you Mark Everett Sloan" he looks at me and we kiss. "I love you too Alexandra Caroline "Lexie" Grey Sloan." He says in between kisses. i then sat on top if Mark leaning down kissing him when suddenly the baby monitors went off. "God we should probably go check on them." I tell Mark and we both get out if bed and went to Josh and Nathan's bedroom. I quickly picked up Josh and Mark Nathan. "Hey sweeties its okay mommy and daddy is here." After the kids fell asleep we went back to bed. The next morning we woke up and I quickly got ready and when I was done I went to get the boys ready. We then went down and had breakfast. "I don't think we should take them to daycare i mean they're still so small." I tell Mark. "Lex don't be silly now hurry up or we'll be late. Mark says kissing me. After breakfast i went to brush my teeth and then took Josh out to the car putting him in his car seat next to Nathan and got into to car. When we got to the car I sat Josh in his car seat and got into the car. When we got to the hospital I took Josh and Mark took Nathan. We then met Meredith,Derek and Zola at the door. "Hey Mer,Derek.And how's my favourite niece?" i ask Zola we all then walk to daycare. "Hey Mer when is the baby due?" I ask Meredith. "About 3 weeks." She says. After we signed in the kids we went to the attending lounge. Just then all our pagers went off "911 at the pit". We all ran to the pit. "Male 35 he was the driver.Lost control of the wheel and crashed.He's been unconscious for 5 minutes.He has possible head injures and lost some skin.He also has a broken bone and collapsed lung." The paramedic said. "Trauma room 1 with both Sloan's,Grey and Torres. Owen says. We were all busy examining the patient when Callie spoke up. "I need a CT scan of the broken leg." "Well i also need a CT." I said. I turned ti the nearest intern. "Get Mr.Anderson to CT and page Dr.Torres and me when the results are up." He nods his head and took our patient to the CT room. I went to the closest on-call room. As i sit down suddenly the door slams open. I turn to see the intern. "Dr.Sloan the scans came back and it looks like he doesn't just have a brain bleed but his brain is also starting to swell." Shit I then stood up and went to our patients room but halfway I see Callie taking the patient. "I'm on my way to the OR we need to operate soon." I then followed her as she,Meredith,Mark and I scrubbed in. After about 3 hours of surgery our patient started seizing  "Shit he's in v-tech someone get me a crash cart." The closest nurse then ran out and I started compressions. After 30 minutes he still didn't come back and I still continued to do compressions when Mark spoke up. "Lex he's gone call it." I look at him and turn to the clock. "Time of death 2:30 pm." I then went to scrub out and we all went to explain the situation to his family. "Family of Mr.Anderson" I asked and two old people stood up."Mr. and Mrs.Anderson despite our best efforts your son's brain began swelling causing him yo seize.We did our best ti get him back but we couldn't." The women looked at me and I expected her to yell at me but she hugged me instead.When I walked away from the family I went to the closest on-call room Mark following me. I entered the room and closed the door and just lied on the bed then Mark came in and lied next to me and it was just perfect. I looked up at Mark. "I love you Mark." I say and he smiles at me. "I love you too Lex." He says and we shared a kiss and fell asleep. When my shift was over I went to wait for Mark at the attending lounge. When he walked in and I went to kiss him. "Ready to go home?" I asked. We went to the door and he was about to go to Daycare when I pulled him the other way and he looks at me confused. "Oh Nathan and Josh is with Meredith and Derek tonight so that we can have alone time and do some things together." I smirk at him and he smirks back. When we got home i went to the kitchen and got out a bottle of wine and two wine glasses and went to sit on Mark's lap on the couch. After a bottle of wine we kissed and he took me to our room not breaking our kiss. When we got to our room he started undressing me and i him that night we made love to one another. When we both reached our limits we just laid there. After a while I fell asleep and woke up a while after wanting to use the bathroom but stopped when I heard Mark on the phone. "Okay Baby love you a lot." he then ended the call and looked at me seeing me crying. He came over and tried to comfort me. "What's wring Lex?" he asks me coming in for a hug but I pushed him away. "I heard you on the phone Mark." he looks at me. "Lex listen I was on the phone talking to Sofia..." he started but i cut him off. "Mark I don't want your excuses,I'll come fetch the rest of my things tomorrow and then I'll go get divorce papers" I say running out of the house and went to my car and drove. As I was driving I didn't realise that i was on Meredith's front steps until I wiped my eyes dry. I went and knocked on the door and after a while a angry tired looking Meredith opened the door. When I saw her I couldn't hold the tears back anymore so i just started breaking down. Se looked at me and hugged me pulling me into the house. "Lex it's okay you're okay why don't you tell me whats wrong?" I just looked at her and she pulled me closer. After a while I started to breathe evenly so Meredith let me go. "I'll go get us some wine and then you tell me what's wrong." she says and I nod my head and she walked away and came back with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. She then poured us wine and sat next to me. "So Mark and I went home after work and we had sex but after I fell asleep I woke up to go to the bathroom but I heard him on the phone saying to the person 'Okay Baby I love you a lot' and when I asked him about it he said it was Sofia and I want to believe him but i don't know what to do and i told him I'll get divorce papers but i don't want a divorce." I started crying again. Just then Derek came  down the stairs with a crying Nathan in the one arm and a crying Josh in the other. Wen he saw me he looked shocked. "Hey Lex mind helping me?" he asks playfully and I take the twins from him. When they were finally asleep Meredith looked at Derek. "Honey could you go get the spare room ready for Lexie please?" he nodded his head  took the twins and walked away. Meredith then looked at me. "Okay Lexie here is what you're gonna do.We are going to your apartment and then you tell Mark you're sorry for saying you want a divorce but you just need some space and then you get the necessary things and you'll come live here for a while okay." I nodded my head and we went to my car and to my apartment. When we got there Meredith and I went into my apartment. "Mark!" I call out and then he appears with a worried look on his face on the phone. "Nevermind Torres I found her." he said and ended the call and we hugged each other and I pulled away after a while. "Mark I'm sorry for saying I want a divorce I didn't mean it but I need some space so I'll be staying with Meredith for a while." I then went to our bedroom and got some clothes and my  toiletries. I then went back to Meredith and Mark. I quickly kissed Mark and went with Meredith.
