He's finally awake

Chapter 14

Lexie's P.O.V

It's been 30 days since the accident and Mark still hasn't waken up and if he doesn't wake up today we have to officially declare him dead. Owen told me to take a month's leave with pay but of course I still spend most of my time in the hospital at Mark's bedside. Suddenly I Meredith showed up with two pats salads, two apples and two bottles of water. She gave me my share of food and then sat down next to me. "You know I've been thinking that since I have a doctors appointment today you could come with Mr of you want to.I mean it'll be good for you and plus o have no one else to ask.Derek's in surgery and Christina as well." I look at her and put on a playful hurt expression. "So I'm your third option." we both laugh. "Sure I'll go with you, you did after all went to mine last week." we then headed out but stopped at the nurses station. "Will you page me when anything changes about Dr.Sloan's condition?" I ask the nurse on duty. "Yes Dr.Sloan." me and Meredith then head to OB. After waiting for like 5 minutes Meredith was finally called in. I must say Julia and I actually have a good friendship. She doesn't hate me for being the love of Mark's life she's actually very happy for us and when she years about me and Mark she came to visit me a few times at the hospital when she had a chance. "Hello Dr.Grey/Shepherd.Hey Dr.Sloan.Let's get started." she put the gel on Meredith and after a while a heart beat fill the room. We were done at OB and was heading to the cafeteria when my pager went off. "Mer I have to go Mark's awake." she looks at me relieved. "Go." I then left Meredith alone waiting for our friends and went to Mark's room. I felt bad leaving now Meredith so soon but it all went away when I heard Mark's deep voice asking the nurse where I was. The nurse was about to answer when I stood in the door way answering his question. "I'm here." he looks at me and I can feel tears forming. "Oh Mark you had us all so worried." he looks at me yet again and I walk over to his bedside. I then get onto the bed and start stroking his hair. "I'm so sorry Lex.How are you are you fine?And the babies are they fine?" I laugh and kiss him. "I'm fine I just re broke my leg and dislocated my shoulder and the babies te fine." I quickly digged through my handbag for the sonogram. When I finally found it I gave it to Mark. He looked at it for a while then he looked me in the eyes and smiled. "I love you Lex." we share a kiss. "I love you too Mark." I then lay my head on top of Mark's chest and we just lied there until I knew he was asleep so I went to Meredith. "How is he?" she asked me. "He looks good.I was actually here to ask you where's Derek? She looks at me thinking. "He's in his office." "Thank you Mer I appreciate it." I went to Derek's office and knocked on the door. "Come in." Derek said so I went in. "Hey Lexie what can I do for you?" he asks. "Uhmm nothing I just wanted to let you know Mark's awake." he looks at me and then storms out of the office. "Derek!" I call him but he just keeps running so I followed him. When I saw where he was going I left him and went to find Meredith. In the cafeteria I saw Meredith sitting at a table with Christina and Alex and I went to join them. "Hey Lex how is he?I mean Derek." I pull out a chair next to Alex and sat down. "He's okay,he's actually with Mark right now.I have to find Torres and Arizona to tell them.Do any of you know where I can find them?" I asked. "Arizona's with a patient and she said something about meeting Callie at daycare so they're probably there." Alex replies we'd I stood up and left. "You're welcome" he yells after me. When I got to daycare I saw Callie and Arizona with Sofia. As soon as Callie saw me she gave Sofia to Arizona and came straight to me and hugged me. "How is he?" "He's good he's awake so yeah uhmm I thought I'd come and tell you so that you can take Sofia to go see her dad." she nods her head and motioned for Arizona to bring Sofia. As they left I went to Zola. "Hey Zo how are you?Can aunt Lex sit here?" she just looked at me and I sat there. When Callie came back to drop Sofia off I put a sleeping Zola down. "How did it go?" I asked Callie. "Uhmm good but he's looking for you." I then ran up to his room and was about to go in when I saw Meredith,Derek and an angry looking Thatcher by his bedside. I then finally went in. "Hey Mark is everything okay?" he nods his head and I turn to face the others. "Hey Mer, hey Derek.Thatcher." he looks at me with hurt in his eyes. "Look Lexie I know you're mad at me but that's not the way you speak to me I'm still your father." I looked at him with anger in my eyes. "Oh you think I'm mad at you,no I'm furious.You  picked young slit over me that just ended up leaving you.So excuse me for not calling you daddy but you've not acted like a dad these past few months so screw you Thatcher Grey." everybody looks ate shocked. Thatcher then left the room. "Derek, Meredith could you give us a moment please?" Mark asked and they left. "Lex babe don't you think that was a bit harsh?" I look at him. "Unbelievable you're picking his side over mine,we're supposed to have each others backs remember." I just stormed out and thought about mark said. After I've cooked down I went to find my dad and apologized to him and went back to Mark. When I got there I went to the bed and he was asleep so I climbed into the bed and kissed him and he woke up smiling at me. "I love you Mark Sloan." "I love you too Lexie Grey-Sloan."
