She isn't judging but her room looks so much like a hotel with one bed that had plain white sheets, white carpets, a desk with a lamp, and matching walls. Hell, even the college had a more homey vibe than this facility. It'll be weird getting used to this place. She glances up at the corners of the walls with unease. Did they have security cameras watching them as they slept?
It isn't exactly homely, I know.
She whirls around to find Charles standing in the doorway, leaning against the door with his hands folded across his chest. He reminds her a little of Sherlock Holmes when he wears his trench coats, and scarves.
"I'm flattered by that, my dear, thank you," he smiles.
"Ah, you didn't let me finish," she says as she flops onto the bed, and stares up at him, "I was going to say that you both annoy everyone with your ability to read people so quickly."
"You're not wrong," he laughs as he enters the room, eyeing the walls around them with as much distaste though he tried to hide it. "most people would have pushed me out of their thoughts by now."
"I would've but I like talking to you too much," she admits.
"Again with the flattery?"
"Keep in mind I almost ran away from you the first time we met," she points out.
"But you still stayed."
"Because you made me stay," she throws a look of accusation his way. "How'd you do that, by the way?"
"Elementary, my dear Watson," he smiles.
"I'm Watson now?" She laughs. "Since when?"
"Since you started comparing me to Sherlock Holmes."
"Oh."
"Come along, Ellie, the game is afoot," he inclines his head towards the hallway behind him, and she laughs as she follows.
He leads her into a strange room that had a bunch of technology and computers, where a man with short, brown hair with bangs swept to the side, in a lab coat stood over a machine she didn't know the name of, talking to a blonde haired woman sitting on a fancy chair. The woman looked over, straightening up as soon as she sees them approaching.
"Hey, Charles," she greets him first, frowning as she and Ellie lock eyes. The man looks over at them with a small frown on his face.
