Ellie had gotten into the routine of heading straight for the library right after she woke up in the morning, or whenever she didn't have any training. Despite nearly falling out the window, it gave her a clear view of the lake, and she'd sometimes catch sight of Charles running with Hank (he made it very clear to her that he didn't appreciate the teasing she gave him whenever he lost a race to Hank) , or training with Erik or Sean.

What she loved most about Charles's library, other than the fact it was bigger than her own college's, was that he had a lot of classic literature. She always felt at home in a library, and could never figure out why.

She hears the door creak open, and glances away from the shelves to see who'd come in. She knew for a fact, that she's never seen Sean or Alex enter the library once.

"Told you she'd be in here," Charles says smugly.

"Using telepathy to find her doesn't count, Charles," Erik points out.

Oh, so that's what that annoying buzzing sound was, she realizes, and she grins a little at Charles's put out expression.

Is it really that annoying? He frowns. You, Raven, and Erik have all said this to me countless times, but I never really believe any of you.

Unfortunately, yes, she says, and throws a sympathetic smile his way. It's like one of those itches you just can't reach.

Thank you for the lovely mental image, darling, he says with a look of exasperation.

You asked, I only answered honestly.

"Did you two just finish training?" She asks, setting the book down to take in their sweat pants and hoodies.

"Yeah," Charles says. "Thought we'd start with yours right after."

"You came willingly, Magneto?" She glances over at Erik who's settling down on the couch, and grabs a newspaper off the coffee table.

"Unwillingly," he pipes up from the couch without looking over.

"Don't listen to him, darling, he came willingly," Charles grins.

"Aw, you do care!" Ellie teases, but he merely shuffles the newspaper around in a passive aggressive manner.

So what's the plan for today, Professor X? She asks, taking her seat on seat on leather chair closest to the desk, and scanning the copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray she'd picked up. No more falling out of windows, right?
