Double Dating.... with whom?

It was the week before prom and all the nominees for Prom King and Queen were rallying to get the most votes. Candice Burner baked cupcakes with a crown on them and gave them away in exchange for votes. Ashton Campden offered the nerds to stop the bullies from attacking them in exchange for votes. Everyone was doing everything they could to get votes. Surprisingly enough, Jaxton and I had also been nominated, but we weren't as interested as everyone else so we didnt really campaign.

One day after school, we sat under one of the maple trees in the courtyard and watched the leaves fall as the trees blew in the wind. Jaxton held my hand tightly and we we listened to The Hectic Glow's newest album together. It was fantastic.

Beep, Beep.

That was my phone. I'd gotten a message from Kimberlee:

Double date 2nite? Milo inviting us 2 Luigi's tonite 6:30 sharp. B there?

I replied with a smiley face and said we'd be there.

"We have a date tonight." I said to Jaxton looking into his eyes. "A double date actually, with Kimberlee and Milo."

Jaxton laughed and kissed the tip of my nose." I'll be there."

I blushed for like the millionth time. "Oh and I'm inviting you to my house to watch a movie."

"When?"

"Now!" I said, grabbing his hand.

In a few minutes we had gotten to my house, mom was just leaving. She was wearing her sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. She was going to her weekly yoga class. Fantastic. At least she wouldn't be spying on us.

She handed me the key and drove off quickly muttering something about her being late. Jaxton and I cuddled on the couch and watched another new Blockbuster romance movie. Before I had even noticed, my alarm for 5:00 went off. I only had a short time left to get ready!

Jaxton left and said he would be back soon and I ran quickly up the stairs to my room. I quicly pressed SPEED DIAL #1:Kimberlee on my phone and waited.

"Yes?" she answered.

"What should I wear?" I asked, desperately.

"It's a casual date you know. Nothing too fancy." she said. " Anyway, i've got to go. Im getting dressed and Milo is downstairs talking to my MOM."

I chuckled. " You better hurry up and save him then." Then she hung up.

I threw the phone at my bed. It bounced off the wall and landed in a heap of paint splattered clothes which lay in a corner. I'd forgotten about those. Oh, well.

I reached into my closet for a grey sweater dress and my pair of sneakers.(Trademark of course.) I franticaly searched through my 'jewellry box' which really just contained a few rings, two necklaces and a golden bracelet. I sighed. I hurried to mom's room. Her silver jewellry box contained several rare rings, bracelets and necklaces.

I quickly removed the lid and picked out a slim golden ring and a thin gold band. I replaced the lid with a loud bang and raced back to my room, almost slipping on the tiles in the hall. I fixed my hair into a neat-ish bun and placed the locket mom had given me some time ago around my neck.

I was ready.

I descended the stairs, only to see Jaxton wearing a leather jacket, jeans and sneakers. I swear, he's legit bae. He smiled his dashing smile and I laughed.

"Let's get going I said."

When we got to Luigi's, there was soft music playing and there was a general silence around the place. Jaxton went over to the person and the reservations desk and told him we had reservations with Kimberlee Ji and Milo Green. Quietly and quickly, he ushered us to their table where they were already deep in conversation, their noses so close they might as well have been kissing.

"Hey..." I said, as Jaxton pulled out my chair and I sat.

"Axel!" Kimberlee softly exclaimed. "You look beautiful!"

Milo smiled. "It's true. That sweater dress is a master piece.'

Fine example of the artistic eye... My grey sweater dress was a MASTERPIECE. Lol.

We were chatting for a while when this stuffy looking waitress in huge pants and a crumpled shit came over. She spoke with a hint of an Italian accent and her greyish-brown hair was really frizzy and stuck out at the ends.

"May I take your orders?" she asked, politely.

Kmiberlee and Milo had already recieved our menus and we scanned through them quickly. Jaxton and I both ordered lasagna and red wine -which I'd never tasted before now- and Milo and Kimberlee had spahgetti. The waitress hurried off to have our orders filled.

In a few moments we were eating, laughing and talking. It was then I noticed that one of the decorative trees was moving. And I may act crazy sometimes, but I'm CERTAIN trees don't move by themselves. I discreetly pointed it out to Jaxton and he pointed it out to Milo and Kimberlee. Milo and Kimberlee said they would QUIETLY pretend to go to the bathroom and then tackle the 'tree'.

Jaxton and I continued eating and talking as if nothing was occuring. Suddenly, I heard a muffled shout and the tree was on the floor.

I heard Milo and Kimberlee gasp and I turned around.

Milo had taken off the mask of the tree costume and it revealed that the person who had been spying on our double date was......
