Reveal the Truth

Tears stung my eyes and I couldn't see but I managed the find Kimberlee.

"Take me home." I mumbled.

She hesitated a moment to talk to Milo.

"Now!" I said, dragging her away by her arm.

As we started her car up in the parking lot, I pressed my nose against the window. Through the window,I could see Jaxton rush out of the school gym and rush toward the car.

"Step on it." I said, angrily.

"This is not some action movie." Kimberlee said. But she quickly pressed the engine and shot out of the parking lot.

When we pulled into the driveway of my house, I stumbled through the door and dropped unto a couch.

Why did this surprise me? Sadie and Jaxton had been together long before Jaxton found me. Why would he not want to go back to her? I mean, she was kinda pretty and what was I? Ugly. Not funny. Stupid. And a Loser. Who wouldn't want a pretty girl over that?

Kimberlee rushed in with her keys wrapped around her finger. Closing the door behind her, she rushed over and knelt beside me.

"What's wrong Axey?" she whispered, tucking a strand of my hair out of my face.

"Oh, nothing my life's great. I got crowned prom queen. My date got me punch. Only, he forgot the punch a stopped for some lip on the way." I said, quietly.

"Some lip? What do you mean?" Kimberlee asked.

"I mean, he kissed Sadie. That's what I mean." I said, sitting up. "Jaxton Thompson kissed that bitch."

Kimberlee sat next to me. "But- but I thought he liked you." she mumbled.

"I thought so too." I said, leaning my head on her shoulder.

She stood up. "That boy's SO getting a beatdown. He's got some explainin' to do."

At that moment, the doorbell rang. In two strides, Kimberlee was at the door and had pulled it open. Jaxton stood there and he was panting.

"Motherfucker, what are you doing here?" Kimberlee said, slanting her eyes.

"W-what?" Jaxton said. "Kimberlee, I need to talk to Axel."

"Why? So you can make her feel worse?" Kimberlee said, her voice rising a little.

Jaxton sighed loudly."Did you ever consider the fact that Sadie MAY have come unto me when I went to get my date some punch? Did you ever think that SHE kissed ME?"

Kimberlee had nothing to say so she stepped aside and allowed him to enter.

I bet I looked like shit but I didnt even try to fix myself.

"What do you want?" I said, through gritted teeth.

He wiped his face with his hand. "Axel, I didn't kiss Sadie."

I rolled my eyes." Oh, so you're trying to say you din't lock lips with her?" I said.

"SHE kissed me and I was taken completely OFF GUARD. And the minute she kissed me, you came around the corner and I was able to push her away. I'd never try to kiss Sadie after all she's done." he said, slowly.

I quickly pulled him to me and he lowered his lips to mine.

"Ahem."

Kimberlee cleared her throat. "You guys wanna head back to the dance? After all you are King and Queen."

I'd forgotten about my crown. I touched the tip of it with my finger and laughed. "Let's go." I said, taking his hand and lifting him off the couch.

Kimberlee sighed."I'm sure my date is waiting gallantly."

And arm in arm, we took off for rom which would turn out to be the best night of our young lives.
