Just One Touch

"You're what?" I asked in disbelief. " This is a prank right?"

"No honey." Dad answered, looking lovingly at mom.

Mom placed her hand delicately on her tummy. Grandma looked like there were tears in her eyes. She wiped them away with a rainbow coloured hankercheif. 

"This is a joke right?" I asked again, feeling weak in the knees.

"No honey." mom said, smiling. " In nine months, you'll have a younger sibling or siblings."

"Oh, wow." I replied, leaning on a nearby wall. " I- I'm glad I guess."

"Grandma will be staying with us for a while to help mom out." Dad said. " Can you show Grandma her room?"

I took Grandma's suticases up. HEAVY. and climbed the stairs. Aunt Marth and Ty and Jarred had done so I stuffed Grandma's things into Aunt Martha's old room.

"Thank you Axel." she said, taking her cardigian off. " I have something for you."

She reached into one of her suitcases and pulled out a golden charm bracelet.  It had a lion charm- 'cause I'm a Leo-,  a paintbrush, a ring, and sneakers.

" I love it!" I said, giving her a hug. She locked it around my wrist.

"Well, Im going to nap, so I'll see you in the morning." she said, as she climbed into her bed.

I turned off the light and closed her door. My room was right next door and I carefully closed the door behind me and went in. My laptop screen was blinking and there was a Skype Chat request on the screen. I sat on the bed, crossed my legs and put the laptop on my lap.

It was from Kimberlee. I clicked ACCEPT and waited for the screen to load. Kimberlee's face appeared on the screen.

"Hey Chicka!" she said. " Look at my nails!" She flashed her nails at the camera. We were both obsessed with THE FAULT IN OUR STARS and her nails were blue and the index finger and the middle fingers on both hand had Okay? Okay. written on them. ^_^

"Baee!!!!" I said - yes I know it means, shit-. " Those nails!'

"I know right!" Kimberlee said." So what's going on with you?"

"OMG, I cant believe I forgot!" I said. "Mom's pregnant."

"I think I'm losing the connection... Did you just say your mom's pregnant?" she asked.

"Yup. I just found out today.." I replied.

"Wow.." she said.

"And also Callum kinda saw me naked...." I mumbled.

"EXCUSE ME??" KImberlee yelled. I pulled out my earphones.

"STOP. SHOUTING." I said, through gritted teeth.

"Callum. Saw you naked? Nude? No clothes on your body?" she screeched.

"Why are you sounding so paranoid?" I asked. "You have Milo."

There was an awkward silence.

"What?!" I asked, angrily.

"M-Milo's moving. He's not coming to our school anymore and I'll never see him again." she whispered.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I replied. "But, Callum already said he likes me, so you shouldn't be mad at me..."

'I'm not- mad. I - I'm just shocked." Kimberlee said.
