I numbly accepted the container of lasagna and shut the door. Somehow, I managed to make my way back to the kitchen and hand it to mom. I weakly sat on a stool next to Aunt Martha and rested my head on the hard counter surface.
Mom and Aunt Marge were silent and then  I felt a cold, bony arm around my shoulders. It was Aunt Marge. This embrace made me feel no better. Her body felt like a mumy that had been kept in a freezer for a thousand years and then suddenly exposed. I shrugged her off and removed myself from the stool, managing to stumble up the stairs.

Ty and Jarred were sitting outside my bedroom door with their toy soldiers and toy cannons staging a pretend war with fake explosion sound. I kicked a dead soldier out of the way and stepped over them, knocking over a few cannons.

"Butterbutt!" Ty yelled. "You butterbutt, you knocked over our stuff."

I slammed the door.

"Farthead!" he yelled through the cracks in the door.

I jumped into my bed and covered myself with the blanket. Occasionally, I  heard pretend war sounds like an explosion and a war cry. Soon, I was crying and tears streamed down my face. I buried my face in my pillow and felt the pillow soak the remaining tears off my cheeks and nose. Jaxton lied to me... AGAIN.

Suddenly, the war sounds in the hall went quiet and my door creaked open.

"Buttheads, get out." I mumbled angrily, thinking it was Ty and Jarred.

"It's me honey. Jarred and Ty have gone downstairs to have some sandwiches." my mother soft voice whispered into the stillness of my now dark room.

She came and sat next to me, and rested one hand on my shoulder and the other hand on her ankle-length peasant skirt. We were silent for most of the time and the last thing I remember was her resting her head on my forehead and hugging her.

The next morning I was awakened by a series of war cries erupting in close vicinity. I sat up quickly in bed and Ty and Jarred were standing at the foot of the bed dressed up as soldiers. with war paint on their faces and all over their hands.

"Clump nuggets!"  I yelled, jumping out of bed.

They quickly stumbled out of the room, laughing their little buggy heads off.  I slipped my feet into my bunny slippers with my matching pyjamas and tromped down the stairs. I probably would've slid down the banister but today I just wasnt up to it. The kitchen was empty and a note taped to the refrigerator indicated that Mom and Aunt Martha had gone for an early morning jog. Knowing my mother, this ''early morning jog''' was probably them walking to the coffee shop down the street (THE BEANS) and then going to see a ChickFlick at the theater.

I grabbed a frozen waffle and a new carton of milk  from the fridge. I tossed the waffle into the toaster and poured a small glass of milk into my mug. Suddenly, I heard feet thumping and Ty and Jarred appeard at the foot of the stairs, apparently after rolling down.

"FEED US." They had written these words all over their bodies, in what I hoped wasnt permanent marker.

I quickly pulled out two more waffles and poped them in after removing mine.

"After breakfast, go bathe. We're going to the lake." I said, between bites of crunchy waffle.

I finished eating and washed all the plates. Jarred got into the shower first and I'm sure he didnt shower cause he still spelled like raw pizza in a dirty gym locker full of rotten-smelling socks: His NATURAL scent.

Ty was cleaner and smelled like soap. I quickly showered after them and dragged on my swimsuitand a t-shirt with shorts. I packed my art supplies into the trunk of the car along and then went upstairs to check on the boys. Ty had his shorts on his head and his swim trunks wraped around his neck. Jarred was shirtless and had drawn a six-pack- with what I hoped was temporary marker- that looked surprisingly like a tic-tac-toe board. I ushered them out the door and soon we were walking down the rocky path to the lake.

As soon as we got to level ground, the boys ran and cannonballed into the lake. I didnt know if they could swim and at that moment, I didnt care. I set up my easel and paintbrushed and looked for the best angle. I decided not to paint what was in my surroundings, but to just paint my emotions.  started by angrily slashing several shades of reds unto the blank white canvas.

I heard the sound of stones behind me and when I turned around, I saw Kimberlee walking owards me with a large pinic basket. Her hair was tangly and flowing and she was wearing a beautiful floral sundress with tiny flowers with tiny, colorful petals.

"Axel!" she said, hapily, putting down the basket and rushing towards me.

I grabbed her in a bear hug. "How did you find me?" I asked, breathlessly.

"This is the pace you come when you're sad or depressed or lonely." she replied.

She took her sundress off the reveal a pure white bikini with bright pink paint splotches on it.

"Let's go in!" she yelled, grabbing my arm. I quickly unzipped my shorts and threw the t-shirt unto a shiny slab of rock. We got to the lake at the same time and Kimberlee pushed me into the freezing cold water. She jumped in a started splashing me with water. The boys wwere at the other end near the rocks having na underwater breathing contest.

After a few hours, Kimberlee and I had gone tosunbathe on the warm rocks on the bank of the lake. We heard the crunch of pebbles behind us and looked around to see mom and Aunt Martha coming down the path. Mom's hair was wet and plastered to her cheeks and Aunt Martha was barefoot.

"Honey, there's gonna be a storm soon, so you guys need to come home." Mom said, peeling a strand of hair off her face.

"Ty1Jarred!" I yelled towards the lake. "Come on! It's time to leave!"

Jarred crawled out of the lake, followed slugishly by Ty. They immediately fell asleep as we began driving home. Once we had parked out front, I lifted Ty over one shoulder and Kimberlee lifted Jarred and we carried them inside and into their beds. It was already dark out, even though it had barely just reach noon.

It had already began raining and a few bolts of lightning struck. Kimberlee and I sat in the living room with Aunt Martha while Mom went to dry herself off. America's Next Top Model was airing on television. I just LOVE Tyra Banks though! She's just super sassy but sweet when she needs to be. Next to me Kimberlee hugged her knees to her chest and slowly chewed on some bubblegum.

Riiiiiiingggggggggg

I reluctanly got up to answer the telephone ringing in the hall.

A distorted, wheezing voice transmitted faintly over the phone line.

"Stay Away from Jaxton. He's mine now."
