Fourth of July || Steve Rogers x Reader

"Tony, hang up the streamers! Nat, choose some awesome music! Clint, go get the cake! Bruce, arrange the presents! Thor, Peter, and Bucky help with other food items. Sam, help Tony with the other decorations," you instructed everyone on their jobs.

What exactly were all of you doing? You were preparing a birthday party for your boyfriend, Steve Rogers. Yes, Captain America was your boyfriend.

The invites had all been sent out, and all that needed to be done was food preparation and decarations. Nat was going to DJ because she had the best taste in music. The party was going to be held in Avengers Tower.

"And what exactly will you be doing while we're working on all of this?" Tony asked, somewhat annoyingly.

"I have the most important job of all my friend... I'm going to be keeping Steve away from the tower so that the surprise isn't spoiled."

Everyone nodded in understanding. At that exact moment, Steve walked into the room, "Hey (Y/N). Are you ready to go?" You had already invited him to go out that day.

"Yep. Let me just grab my purse and we can head out." You quickly grabbed your things, making sure your phone and wallet were in your purse, and walked to the elevator with Steve.

The elevator took you both to the ground floor and you quickly left the building. You hailed a cab and after the driver geeked out over the fact that Captain America was in his car, you were heading towards your destination.

"So, where are we going?" Steve asked.

"Well, I thought maybe we could go to the mall for a bit and then walk around Central Park. Unless there's something else you would prefer to do?"

"That sounds wonderful. As long as I'm with you, I'll have a good time wherever we are."

You smiled at him and gave him a peck on the cheek, "What did I do to deserve you?"

"You simply existed doll." You smiled at each other.

You soon arrived at the mall and payed the cab driver. You exited the cab and walked in. "Where do you want to go first?" you asked.

"We should probably go eat lunch. I mean, it is noon and neither of us have eaten."

You agreed and decided to eat lunch at the Cheesecake Factory that was in the mall. From there, the day was nothing short of spectacular. You both got new clothes from various stores in the mall, and then walked around Central Park.

"Today was great (Y/N). Thank you. What was it all for though?"

"It was no problem my love. Anything for you. And there wasn't really a reason. I just wanted to spend a nice day with you."

You both smiled at each other and leaned in for a kiss. Unfortunately, you were interrupted by your phone's ringtone. Tony had sent you a message telling you that everything was ready.

You sighed, "We should probably head back to the tower."

"Why? Is something wrong?"

"No. No. It's just getting late, and we have to go home at some point. I'll tell you what though, we can go back to the tower and have a movie night!" A smal lie wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Sure. That sounds like fun. You can introduce me to that Star Wars series you were talking about."

You both quickly left the park after that and made your way to Avengers Tower. You got in the elevatorthat would take you to the floor the party was being held on.

You texted Tony that you were on your way up. He assured you that everyone would be hiding when you got there and that you wouldn't be disappointed with anything.

It was pitch black as you and Steve stepped out of the elevator. Suddenly, everyone popped out, "Surprise!"

Steve jumped back in shock while everyone shouted, "Happy Birthday Steve!"

You smiled at him. "(Y/N) did you do this?"

"Yep. With a lot of help from Tony, Clint, Nat, Bucky, Sam, Bruce, and Thor."

"Thank you all. I'm touched. And special thanks to my girlfriend. Thank you for this. I love you so much (Y/N)."

"I love you too Steve." You both kissed then went to mingle with the guests.

Bucky got Steve alone later on. They were taking when he asked Steve a question, "This is nice and all, but are you ever planning on telling them that your birthday is actually in December?"

"Never in a million years Buck. And neither are you."
