"So you managed to calm him down?"
He watched Taehyung's smile widen from across the lake, the younger's stature mirroring his own as they both stood with their phones to their ear. The breeze was soothing, and the sun, favouring his eyes as a ray of light seemed to kiss Taehyung's skin perfectly. Jimin couldn't have felt more proud of the weather for playing along to the expectations of "wedding material", even if it was for just one day in the unpredictable rounds of Autumn. But somehow, just staring at Taehyung from their short but long distance had him feeling nostalgic.
And he just couldn't shake it off.
"..."
"Yeah, I kinda helped, I guess."
"I mean, I didn't wanna give him soju or anything..."
"He can't exactly get his ass drunk yet."
"But I did threaten to castrate him with a butter knife if he didn't shut the fuck up about how Jungkook's too good for a nervous wreck like him."
"I mean..."
"Part of me wants to believe it already."
"But it's their freaking WEDDING for fuck's sake!"
"Yoongi can't just be backing out now!"
Jimin snickered as he watched Taehyung walk his way around the lake towards him, kicking random pebbles into the murky, algae-infested waters. The sun didn't once fail to flaunt his ethereal beauty right in front of Jimin's eyes. Taehyung's suit hugged him in all the right places, while his hair--slightly parted-- highlighted his features gloriously. But even after three whole years, Jimin still couldn't get enough.
"Just get over here, will you?" he half laughed, half grumbled with impatience into the phone's speaker. "I wanna look at you from up close."
And with a nod from across the still waters, Taehyung smiled once more, dropping his phone from his ear to end the call. Jimin watched him the whole way he walked, yelled a few times for him to hurry up, laughed some more at Taehyung's antics of pretending to trip over nothing. The breeze was soothing, the sun favoured his eyes. And just staring at the one he loved with all his heart from their short-long distance had him feeling nostalgic.
Three years already, huh?
The tiny black box in his blazer pocket silently taunted him to open it.
"You called for my presence, Park Jimin."
As always, the smile in Taehyung's voice as he said his name brought lightheaded sense of childish excitement to every cell in his body. Three years had passed, and Taehyung still displayed exactly the same teasing look in his eye since 19. Now they were 22, and Jimin still felt as if he'd grown younger.
He knew they'd both aged physically: Taehyung's features became more chisled and masculine, while Jimin was almost sure that he himself had grown a bit taller. But the game changer was the fact that he still felt as healthy, as happy, and as young as he'd felt at 19 years.
And he knew Taehyung was the reason.
"Y-yeah..." Jimin finally replied, forcing his hand out of his pocket as he released the black box from his fingers. He coughed awkwardly, gesturing over himself. "I, uh... I just wanted to ask if I still look okay."
