Why do you want to think
about the bakery
you loved as a child
or when your parents
stopped at an ATM machine
and your bones were so tired
but they didn't stop bickering
why replay the time
you spent at the cafe
with your favourite person in the world
you two drank coffee
and wrote your heart out
or the time
when you knew you were getting bad again
but couldn't do anything about it
so you just choked on your tears
and wished that someone would take you away
why take a trip down memory lane
and remember the things
that made you feel young and goofy
or the events that killed little parts of you
what is the point of
reminiscing every single thing
that has happened to you
good or bad
that doesn't matter
the question is why
you can't go there again
no matter how much you close your eyes
or wish on every star you see
you won't feel that feeling again
the people you loved are gone
some of them haven't changed
but the ones who have
they don't think about you
feel anger instead of nostalgia
they let you go
its about time you do too
