Some of these spirits are not legitimate mythological deities – namely Ru-Yeva, which I made up; Mac Tíre, which is an Irish term for 'wolf'; and Uturunku, which translates to 'jaguar' in Quechua and is the name of a mountain in Peru.
Some are known as gods or goddesses while others are minor spirits. For the purposes of this book, all are equal in ability and all are "descended" from the Great Spirit. No harm was intended towards the followers of these religions; I aim to entertain readers and bring light to the beauty of all cultures. Any inconsistency in the deities' descriptions and representations is my own.
