"Alex, you ready?" My mom asks as she pulls over in front of my new school.

I've just moved in with my dad, his wife, and children, due to family things that I inherited. My mom wanted to drive me to school one last time. Before she flew back to Georgia.

I looked out at the school more nervous than I've ever been in my entire life.

"No." I shook my head.

"It's going to be fine, new schools are tough." She placed her hand on mine to comfort me. "Besides you have something that'll help you."

"And what's that?" I asked.

"Your amazing brothers and sisters." She smiles.

"Haha.. ya.. 😬 ...nice brothers and sisters.." I sarcastically laughed.

She knows that my siblings are roguish, high school teenagers and that we don't get along. But she doesn't know what for..... I made sure to keep that a secret from her...

They hate me for something I didn't have control over.

We'll get into that later.

And no it's not because I'm gay..... thank god.

"Well, love you, sweetie. Remember, you can always call me if you need anything." She pulled me into a tight hug before I got out of the car. "Now I gotta get going if I'm going to make it home on time."

Now if she's late, it's on her, she chose to stay here last night, to take me to school, knowing it takes a long time to get to that damn airport.

"Love you, baby, stay safe."

"Thanks, and I love you too, ma." I blew her a kiss and watched as she drove off-campus, Leaving me here with the weight of the world on my shoulders.

My life is going to change the moment I set one foot inside this school.

I looked down and let out a sigh, before mumbling some words of encouragement to myself.

"You can do this Alex."

I looked up and met the eyes of a dark-haired boy, staring back at me from across the campus...

......I picked my hand up and gave him an awkward wave...

But our little staring contest lasted all of two seconds, before a girl, who I'm assuming is his girlfriend, smashed her face into his.

That just happened...

The guy looks back up at me before the girl pulls him away.

Whatever... That's my cue to leave.

I made my way towards the school and entered through the double doors.

"Welcome." An all too familiar voice says. "You must be the new student?"

I looked up and locked eyes with my father.
