I woke up to the sound of shuffling in my room.
When I opened my eyes, they immediately caught sight of my Brother.
Not Eli.
Ryan....
The Eldest of the Legendheart siblings.
As soon as I saw his face.... I broke down crying.
I already knew why he was here.
I just cried.
I couldn't help it....
it's been a week since.... the dance.
.....Since Jazz...
............Since Ariah.
Since everything went down.
Jason lost his sister..... right after he had got her back.
Tears slid down my cheek, as Ryan stood at the foot of my bed, glaring at me.
"This is your fault!" He yelled, making me jump in fear.
I couldn't say anything.
I just shook my head.
What happened wasn't my fault...... but somehow, they always seem to make it about me.
"I'm sorry." I say. "But it is not my fault."
He shook his head at me in disgust.
"How do you even think all of this started?" I say.
"You were-"
"I was trying to get closer to all of you guys, but you chose to push me away." I interrupted.
"Exactly!" He spat. "We don't need you, and we don't want you."
He glared at me.
"We never have, and we never will." He says.
I didn't even feel sad about this, Ryan has always been the most brutally honest about how he felt about me.
"Jayla told me everything that has been happening." He says.
I nodded my head.
"You bring this family nothing but trouble." He says. "When will you realize that?"
"I realized it a long time ago." I say. "But I thought I'd still try to be with you all."
"weather you like it or not I am your brother."
"Even though you were the one who filled their heads with all of this nonsense." I say. "I still loved you."
"weather you like it or not I am your brother." I say.
"Even though Ariah, tried to kill me." I say. "I still loved her."
He shook his head and glared.
"Even when Eli, called my mom a whore- The point is! I forgave all of you, for unforgivable things." I say. "I was there for each of them when they were hurt."
I felt hot tears falling down my face.
"And what did I get in return!?" I asked.
He just stared at me.
"I got a Constant reminder that I was never really going to be apart of this family."
"Because you aren't!" He yelled.
I sighed giving up on it.
I'm just wasting my breath.
Without another word, he left my room, slamming the door shut on the way out.
I let out a sigh, and went to go get ready for Ariah's funeral.
I've called Jason a million times, but it just goes straight to voicemail.
I really want to be there for him.
Especially at a time like this.
~•~
The funeral went by and it was hard for everyone.
Mrs. Diamond went up to the casket, and cried her eyes out as she held onto Ariah. Dad had to pry her away. Even though he was a mess himself.
And it killed me watching all of it.
For the whole week, tension in the house was so awkward.....
it was bad....
my dad doesn't know anything that has happened for the last two months.... and that's what really set it off. The confusion on his face. The awkwardness as we all stared back silently at him.
......
Anyway...
We're at the reception and I'm just ready to go hom-
"Here!" Ryan says interrupting my thoughts.
Ryan came up to me and slapped something to my chest... hard, then he glared at me.
I looked down, at it...... a plane ticket.
"What's this?" I frowned looking up at him.
"Pack your shit, and leave." He whispered.
"Wh- No." I say. "I'm staying here!"
He shook his head.
He grabbed me harshly by the arm, and started pulling me away from the room.
Before I left the room Eli and I locked eyes for about a second, he looked sad.
Once we were in the hallway and far away from the reception room, he slammed me against the wall.
"Look!" He yelled. "My sister is dead because of you."
"Stop throwing that in my face." I say.
"She got herself into trouble, because she let Jackson manipulate her, and use her."
It hurt saying this, but Ryan needs to know.
"Then she was going back to him." I say, tears running down my face.
"It's sad how you don't even find him at fault!" I yelled. "He's gone and your acting like none of this is his fault!"
"And I know you know what happened." I say. "You even said they told you."
He looked away from me, glaring at the wall behind me.
"Look, why don't you just do us all a favor and leave!" He says. "Go back to your mother and leave my family alone."
I nodded my head.
"Okay." I say. "Fine...."
He's right it's time for me to leave! I can't stay here for another minute.
I pushed past him, and ran away as fast as I could.
I don't even know why I'm running. it's not like he's going to stop me.
I ran all the way to my house- the house I was staying in and I threw all of my stuff in my suit case.
It's time for me to leave... I get it now.
Don't stay where you are not wanted.
Before I left, I got a pen and paper and wrote a letter to Eli. At least I was able to change his heart.
I went upstairs and placed the letter under his pillow.
That way, if dad or Mrs. Diamond come in his room, they won't see it and get it.
He'll find it one day or another.
Either way... I'll be gone..... and I'm never coming back.
I grabbed my backpack and suit case, and left his room.
Then I went outside.
As I walked down the driveway, I stopped and turned towards the house.
Just admiring the way it looked.
"It's been real." I smiled.
I turned and walked to the bus stop, waiting for a bus to take me to the airport.
