I woke up to my alarm blaring so I smacked it off.

"you have to wake up sometime." I herd Patrick laugh. I opened my eyes to see him sitting Indian style beside me in his boxers and the red T-shirt he was wearing last night.

"no." I groaned.

"come on" he said coaxingly.

"fine." I sighed and climbed out of bed and went over to my dresser. "what are you doing for clean clothes today?" I asked as I took off my shirt and pajamas. it took a minute for Patrick to answer.

" I uh. I guess um these should be fine." he said to me. I turned around to him still sitting on my bed and realized he was staring at me in my under ware wide eyed making me blush and smirk.

"sorry." I said realizing what I was doing.

"no, I uh...you're fine" he said and looked down nervously. it was silent in my room as I got dressed.  "I think I'm ready." Patrick blurted out quickly.

"huh?" I asked confused.

"you know." he mumbled then cleared his throat.

"we'll see." I said realizing what he meant.

I felt funny about Patrick all day, I just felt closer to him some how.

at lunch Andy, Joe, and Amelia were surprised when Patrick and I walked into the cafeteria hand in hand and sat down with them.

"glad you made a good choice" Joe whispered to me.

"you ready to go dress shopping tonight?" Amelia asked me.

"yes!" I said excitedly.

"I want a black dress. what about you? red or black dress?" Amelia asked me.

"I haven't really thought about it." I admitted.

" you'll look nice in anything." Patrick said.

"what are you doing tonight?" I asked Patrick.

"work." he said dryly.

"then practice" Andy added.

I walked with Amelia down the downtown Chicago streets. We had been looking at prom dresses for almost two hours now.

"hey! let's go in here then visit Patrick at work, the record store is just right up the street." Amelia said making me smile.

"that would be awesome!" I said as we walked into the dress shop. we immediately began to look at the rack with all the prom dresses where sorted by color.

"prom is going to be so much fun! I can't believe were going with the band that's playing." she said eyeing a black dress with red lace accents. "I think this is it." she said to me holding the dress in front of her."

"that is totally it." I agreed.

"look at this one" she said grabbing another long dress off the rack. this one was a shiny red silk one with a black bow in the back, it was gorgeous. my eyes got wide at it.

"that's definitely my pick." I said and we went into the dressing rooms to try them on.

"Wow!" she said from the next stall "this dress is so pretty I wish I could wear it all the time." she laughed "how's yours coming along?" she asked.

"gorgeously, but we should of done this in the same stall, I need a zip up." I said and within seconds she was at my stall door and I let her in, her eyes lit up when she saw me in the dress.

"good god!" she said after zipping me up. "you look fantastic!" she smiled.

"you're quite the stunner yourself" I said tackling another look at her dress."

"we'd be crazy not to get these." she said, she was right, the dresses were cheaper than any of the others we had seen so we would still have enough to get shoes too.

we paid for the dresses and headed up the street.

"I was thinking about just buying a pair of chucks to wear to prom." I said.

"I think that's what I'm going to do too, just wear chucks" she said as we walked into Patrick's record store. Patrick was standing at the register writing something and he looked very concentrated on it. Amelia smirked at me and we started looking through the records in the empty store.

"see that guy over there?" I whispered loud enough for Patrick to be able to here. "he's so hot! I hope he doesn't have a girlfriend." I said and Patrick's head shot up and smiled when he realized it was me.

"I do have a girlfriend, but she's definitely not as pretty as you." he smirked as he walked over to us. "so how did dress shopping go lovely ladies?" Patrick asked us.

"it took us two hours to find our dresses, your girlfriend is picky" Amelia said jokingly knowing she was the picky one.

"if she was picky I don't think she would like me" Patrick wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead before letting go of me. "so what do they look like?" he asked.

"sorry, Amelia and I made a promise to each other that none of you sneaky boys would see our dresses before prom." I said

"well that's okay, I understand you like Amelia better than me." he sighed and joked.

"no offence to you Trick, I'm just better company." Amelia smirked.

"you're too much like Pete." Patrick laughed.

"what's that supposed to mean?" she laughed.

"it just means Paige is a lot like me." Patrick said. "oh I have something for your dad" Patrick said turning back to me.

"oh, I see your ploy, get in good with Paige's dad." Amelia laughed as we followed Patrick to the register.

"no, her dad happens to be really cool and like the same music as me, so I ordered him the records he was looking for." Patrick said taking records from under the counter and placing the them on the counter. he put them in a bag and handed them to me.

"you're such a sweetheart. my dad is going to love this." I said leaning over the counter to kiss him

"okay love birds, we gotta get out of here to look fore some shoes." Amelia commented.

"she's right." I said.

"you want me to stop by tonight?" Patrick asked me with an eyebrow raised. he was being so flirty and I loved it.

"of course. bring clothes this time." I said.

"I don't want to know if you two are boneing tonight" Amelia said making Patrick blush and let out a light chuckle.

"we don't bone." I said.

"well talk about this later." Amelia said.

"please don't" Patrick begged.

"if we did you would never even know." Amelia winked at Patrick. "bye!" she said and dragged me out the door.
