Raven had been done showering, and was now dressed. She followed Nightwing into the kitchen, happy. Or at least, she was happy, until Starfire came into the room. The redheaded alien entered the common room wearing a sparkly pink tank, that showed her stomach, a very short matching pink skirt, and sparkly pink high heels that made her 2" taller. She had walked straight over to where Nightwing was, and had started a conversation with him. Raven looked down at her own clothes. A dark purple tank top, black leather jacket, black skinny jeans with dark purple designs on the sides, and black combat boots. She had thought her outfit looked nice. Until Starfire showed up in that horrible disco ball outfit. She was flirting with Nightwing, and Raven heard something break. Yes, she was able to show some emotions, but too much could cause some damage. Nightwing turned to look at her, walking away from Star. He went to talk to Raven, but she stopped him. Of course, she talked to him through their bond. I'm fine. I just need to take a walk. He nodded, watching her walk away.
Raven stood on their island, breathing slowly. She began to walk to the city, and, on her way, took a detour down a dark alley. She remembered Nightwing saying it was dangerous, but she didn't really care at the moment. She needed to think. Whenever Starfire flirted with Nightwing, Raven got jealous. He was her's, and she didn't want anyone else taking him from here. She loved him, and still had that necklace he had given her back when they were teenagers. Raven fingered the locket, suddenly sad. She knew why though. She didn't want Nightwing to leave her. She knew she would be nothing without him. All of a sudden, Raven felt a sharp pain hit her back. She reached back, and felt the handle of a knife. As she turned slowly, she was greeted by a tall, drunk, black haired boy. He didn't look more than 25. His brown eyes made her yelp, for they reminded her of a predator. He pulled out the knife, smiling. "What's a girl like you doin round these parts? Didn't anybody tell you that this is the gang's territory?" His words were slurred, but he was still intimidating. Raven tensed as his hand traveled up her back. "I am not afraid of you. Remove your arm." He tried to conjure up her dark energy, but her sadness had drained her. The boy laughed, pressing himself against her. "You know what happens to girls who come this way?" Raven gulped, knowing all to well what might happen. He grabbed her waist, smashing his lips onto hers. Raven struggled against him, but he was surprisingly strong. His hands traveled up her sides, his grip tightening as Raven pulled away from his mouth, smashing his chest with her hands. "Get off of me!!!!!" He looked at her, and laughed a harsh laugh, one that sent chills down Raven's spine. Raven tried to pull herself out of his grasp, to run, but he backed her into the wall. He practically ripped off her jacket, apparently unsatisfied with the garment. Just as he gripped her jaw with his hand, voices shouted from the beginning of the alley. He glanced behind him before looking back to Raven, kissed her, and then threw her to the ground. As he ran, obviously towards his friends who had called, Raven pulled on her now tarnished jacket. She touched her bruised lips, crying. She backed into a corner, pulled her knees to her chest, and sobbed. She wasn't supposed to be a victim. That wasn't her. She was the savior, the heroine. Yet here she was, in a city that never truly sleeps, crying to herself as she realized she had just experienced what so many other women had. And she hated the world for it.
