Raven awoke with a start. She looked over, confirming it was a nightmare. Richard and Rhiannon were right there.
She had been having nightmares since Rhiannon turned 1. They were always the same. Richard getting shot, Rhiannon drowning, while Raven stood there, helpless.
Rhiannon moved, looking up to her mother.
"Mama. It late. Go to sleepy." She nuzzled into Raven. Her arms gripping Raven's shirt. Richard stirred, but fell back asleep.
Raven fell back asleep.
This time when she awoke, Raven had no nightmare. Rhiannon was giggling. Raven turned to her, looking down at her. "What's so funny?" She asked, smiling.
Rhiannon pointed to Rhichard, who had a feather on his nose. Raven giggled, happy. She removed the feather, awakening Richard.
His blue eyes stared at her purple orbs, an eyebrow raised. "You had a feather on your nose." She said, kissing his cheek.
Richard yawned, still tired. He closed his eyes, but Rhiannon crawled on top of him, trying to open them.
"Daddy! Sleepy time is over!" She giggled, placing her small hands on his cheeks. He looked up at her, raising a brow.
Raven put her head on his shoulder, smiling. In response, Richard leaned over, kissing her cheek.
Rhiannon fell off her father onto the bed. She stood up, jumping. A knock came at the door, and Richard got up, answering it.
"Master Richard?" Alfred said, looking in to see Rhiannon and Raven. Richard looked to Alfred expectantly. "Breakfast is ready." He said, smiling as he left.
Raven picked up Rhiannon, getting her clothes for the day. Richard stood by them. At that moment, they looked like the perfect little family.
