Chapter 43

"Mine's already at home."

Shay's P.O.V

After my first Christmas with Michael, we drove back into Sydney to his apartment that he shares with the other boys.

Right before we drove back, there were a handful of fans waiting outside Michael's house so while he met the fans, I waited inside his house with his parents because I wasn't comfortable being around the fans yet & then once he was done with that, he drove us back into the city.

As we pulled up to his building, I saw many fans waiting outside the apartment complex, all of them cheering as they saw Michael's car pull up. Even though we were able to park in the covered lot away from them, you could still hear them chanting his name after we parked & got out of the car.

"I guess I should go say hi." He said to me.

"Yea, you go. I'll just go to the apartment."

"Okay, see you in a few." Michael gave me a kiss & then went out to meet the fans & their screams multiplied by ten once they saw he was coming out to meet them.

I did love him meeting his fans & I'd never keep him from seeing them but personally it was too chaotic for me to stand in a situation with hundreds of screams & arms grabbing everywhere. 

I went up to the apartment & saw Luke & Calum sitting on the couch.

"Hey Shay! How was your Christmas?!" Luke yelled, running over to hug me.

"Hi to you too. It was really nice. Yours?"

"It was great. Come sit with Cal & I. Where's Mikey?"

"Meeting fans."

"Oh yea, they all didn't care about me when I saw them. They only asked about you & Michael." Calum said, as I sat down. "I went to talk to them once I came home & literally they just asked about you."

"Me?"

"Yea, they asked me who you were, what you & Michael were, how long you're here, all those type of things. I didn't answer any but they are curious about you."

"Oh." I said, not sure what to say.

"Does that bother you?" Luke asked.

"A little. I just don't know how to handle it. Like people screaming & pulling at my boyfriend, it's not the most typical thing."

"I know, I want to say you'll get used to it but even I haven't gotten used to it." Luke explained. "But it should get a little easier."

"I hope so. I have a question for you guys though. So Michael said he talked to like someone in your management team about him sending out a newsletter explaining why he was away for two months." 

"Yea, I heard that. I think it's a great idea." Calum interrupted.

"Same, I do too but then he said like he was going to tweet & put up like an instagram video to tell them about me. Do you think that's a good idea?"

"I do. Words won't get twisted & it'll come straight from him. Why? Don't you?" Luke asked me.

"No, like I do think it's a good idea I guess just to clear the rumors & confirm we're together but like how much do you think the fans will hate me?"

They both looked at each other, not wanting to answer the question but finally Calum spoke. "Well, I don't think it's gonna be pretty but if they find out you're serious about each other, & once they see you're a sweet girl &  basically perfect for Mikey, I think they'll come to like you."
