Ella's POV.
*Flashback*
"Emmanuella!!!, Stop that will you?!", I stopped fighting with Lola and immediately turned to granny with a frown.
"Come're baby, come here. You too Lola", she stretched out her hands to both of us and I ran over to where she was, situating myself on her laps before Lola gets to where she was. Lola sat on the couch beside her.
Granny raised my chin up so I was looking directly into her eyes."Ella", she started. "I told you to stop fighting Lola. Only bad girls fight, don't you know that?"
My 9 year old self turned to Lola and eyed her. She stuck a tongue at me and I held myself back from smacking her. I didn't want to offend Grandma.
"But granny, this is not her house. Why won't she go to her house? And she said that she's my big sister and she always hit me when I tell her to go to her house. She even told me to call her big sister", Granny smiled and sighed.
"Ella, her parents are always out. They're working to provide for her and she has nowhere else to stay. That is the main reason I allow her to stay here. At least you have a friend to play with right? And Ella, she is 2 years older than you baby. You don't have to call her big sister but you have to respect her okay?", I cringed and she turned to Lola, holding her hand. "Lola, you should take her as your best friend okay? You should not hit her nor make her suffer in any way. Both of you should always protect each other. You should be best friends..."

"You really wanna know? Well, she's my grandmother. Or should I say, was?", I replied and I saw Kore frown again. He was shaking his head like he couldn't believe it.
Not that I blame him. Who'd believe it anyway? Even I find it hard to believe after what happened last night.
Last night...
I blinked as I tried to recall what happened last night.
*Flashback*
She hates me!
She just stood there, watching my every move until I noticed she was on a call.
I turned to Kore. "Hey, could you go on without me?"
He frowned, "Are you sure? I could stay and make sure you're okay. I don't want to leave, especially not when I know you're not okay"
"I'm fine, just leave. I'd see you at home", I gave him a slight shove he reluctantly moved to go into his car and drove off"
I turned to my grandmother and looked at her from head to toe. She was wearing a short flare dress. She had always loved short dresses. Her dress was wine and she had braids on. I remember when I used to take her to the salon to make braids.
A tear escaped my eye and I angrily wiped it away.
"TM, I'd call you back, I need to talk to someone. Yeah, alright bye", she put her phone in her purse and her eyes still on me , she took a few steps forward and the next thing that happened didn't surprise me.
She slapped me and my head tilted to the side. She had done it before. Two years ago.
"What the hell are you doing here? You..." She pointed a finger at me, "have the guts to come here after everything you've done to us? To me? To Lola? Why? You want to cause trouble? Uhn? I never knew you were this shameless Emmanuella", she had a vicious scowl on her face and tears were flowing freely from my eyes now.
