It was incredible to me how at ease Niall seemed with me at the restaurant. Most people seemed...awkward around me. But Niall was laughing and joking around like I was one of his band mates. He would tell jokes, or just talk, and I was answering in the little menus they had given us, along with the crayons he had gotten with the kids menu he specially requested.
"It's perfectly genius!" he exclaimed. "You order a little meal on the kids thing, and then you get free icecream, and then you can get a normal sized meal from the large menu! I can't believe nobody else has ever though of this!"
I chuckled slightly at him, before leaning over and scrawling a message to him in the red crayon I had chosen to write with, "Ni...I'm sure lots of people have thought of that. It's really not that hard of a concept to think up."
A pouty hurt look appeared on his face as he read my words.
"Come on now, let me have the satisfaction of being right for once!" He said exasperatedly
I just shyly smiled at him across the table. With not much else to say, it was about all I could do.
Suddenly before us, an overly perky over make upped waitress appeared in front of us, grinning widely, slightly trembling with nerves maybe?
"Hi my name is Ali and I'll be your server, are you guys ready to order?" she asked,
Niall gave her a warm smile before rattling off an order for Mac and cheese off of the kids menu, and then he got some monstrously large hamburger and an order of the loaded waffle fries.
"And for you?" Ali asked, turning to me expectantly.
My eyes widened and I looked at Niall for help, pointing out a simple turkey melt on the menu, with a small bowl of soup on the side.
I saw definite confusion on the girls face but she just scribbled down our orders and danced off, swinging her hips as she went.
"Well...she was nice." Niall chucked when she was out of earshot.
I smiled and nodded, starting to doodle lines across the paper.
"Wanna play tic tac toe?" Niall asked, an adorable little smile on his face.
Without even waiting for my response, he started to draw the board for it, choosing the blue crayon as his choice colour.
"Im warning you now. I am the ultimate champion of this."
I rolled my eyes, picking up my red crayon again before scribbling out,
"Of course you are Ni, of course you are."
He looked slightly insulted by my obvious sarcasm, but it faded almost immediately, as he focused on the board.
"Alright, ladies first. Go go go go hurry! Take your turn!" He insisted, waving his hand impatiently at me.
I rolled my eyes, scanning the game board he had drawn.
Being the first person, I didn't have to worry about being too strategic, I just scribbled a red X into the centre of the board.
"I wanted to be X" he muttered before drawing an O in the space to the left of mine.
I countered that by drawing an X on top of his O.
"You can't do that." He grumbled again, scrawling a messy O to the right of his.
And before he could realize the silly mistake he had made, I quickly drew in my X in the bottom right corner of the board, drawing a line through it, claiming my victory.
