the following day chaeyoung bowed to mrs. jeon for an apology for her manners at the table. she felt guilty of jeongguk hearing he wasn't wanted. he had issues like that. but the kind woman his mother is, she said it's fine and that she understands her.

"i always wanted a little girl, but apparently i have two naughty sons. if you're not comfortable around him then you can always hang out with me if your mom's not around." she offered, caressing her hair.

chaeyoung smiled sweetly, "i really didn't mean it, mrs. jeon. i'm really sorry for saying that. it's fine by me if he wants to tag along when school's done."

her face lightens up, "is that so? oh sweetie that's good to hear. he's never really had interactions with girls that much and i just hope that you can help him."

"i'm not sure how i'm able to do it but i'll try?" she said.

the final bell rang and everyone had pack up, ready to leave. before she was about to get up, ms. cho approached chaeyoung and asked her a favor to help her in checking the test papers of the other class. she agreed, until every student has already left besides her.

"thanks so much chaeyoung-ah, be safe when you come home." chaeyoung smiled and waved ms. cho goodbye. as soon as she reach the playground, she saw jeongguk that's just about to leave. he's stretching his neck and groaned in pain as he walk.

"hey jeon!" she called. jeongguk turned around and was surprise to see her.

"look who's following me." he mocked.

"very funny... so, why leave just now?" she asked, both stopping their tracks.

"i got uh... caught taking the fishes in the pond." he shyly said.

chaeyoung contained her smile, "so that's why jaehyun's complaining where the fishes went."

"hey it's not my fault they weren't treated nicely."

"that's nice of you to care for a fish. i have one myself." yeah no one asked, chaeng. she thought.

"so are we gonna go home or we'll talk about your fish?" chaeyoung rolled her eyes and smiled, "i'm sorry if i insulted you last night." both kids started walking as the sun was almost setting. and had a conversation about chaeyoung's fish.
