Lucius POV
The guy on the table was regaining consciousness. All I want to do is sleep I'm tired as fuck and no one is letting me get the sleep I need tonight.
"Oh my head. What is this place? What the hell?!" Shit now he's awake. "Just let me go, okay, little boy." I'm 12 I'm not a little boy. He managed to break out of the old straps and jumped off grabbing the dagger. "Okay now. Let's just calm down and try to figure out what happened here." I was tired of talk. Dad taught me a fire trick earlier in the night. With all my strength I was able to make a fireball the size of my torso. I felt the flames of hell running through me. This thing was growing bigger by the second and I was losing my control so with all my might I threw it all the guy. But fuck I missed. "Holy shit! How the hell did you do that." I felt pain I used too much power in that one fireball. I felt weak and the guy must've noticed it as well. "It's the cross. That's what's affecting him. This will keep you at bay." I had to think on my feet. I am not dying down here.
The battle wasn't hard but not my easiest. It was like a game of cat and mouse. I'd run to a cross that he'd turn upright and I'd turn it upside down then run to the next and he'd run to the one I just fixed and he'd turn it back upright all while he was trying to stab me and I was throwing flame balls at him.
I made it back upstairs to my room and put my pjs back on. I ditched the striped white and red ones for a different pair. I now had a blue and white flannel se but I don't use the shirt just the bottoms because I gets way too hot with a long sleeve flannel shirt on. I was finally going to get the long needed sleep I deserved. I climbed into bed and turned towards the window the storm was still going.
That's when I heard the door open ever so slightly. I freaked out I am not doing anymore shit for anyone all I wanted was sleep. "Lucius?" My mouth opened slightly because of the voice who said my name. I turned to see Y/N standing in my room. Her head was faced downwards and her one arm was holding the other. She must've heard me turn over because she looked up. Was she crying? "God this is...really stupid..but I had a nightmare Lucius." By the sound of her voice she was definitely crying. Not knowing if she had good vision in the dark like me I got up and grabbed her hand and led her to the bed where she sat next to me.
"I'm sorry I really didn't mean to wake you but I had to check if you were alright Lucius. I just had a really bad nightmare about you. I tried going back to sleep but I couldn't until I knew you were safe and plus the storm was scaring me."
I got up and grabbed my flashlight, pencil and notepad and brought it back to the bed. I'm alright I promise I put the notepad on her lap and shone the light for her. I saw a drop of water or something hit the notepad and before I even had time to comprehend what I could be, her arms were around me. She was practically on me at this point.
"I'm really really sorry Lucius I really am I just...I don't wanna lose you." It had settled to a hug with her arms around my neck and her head on my shoulder. I've seen this stuff in movies before so I sorta just awkwardly put my arms around her back.
Eventually she pulled away and said thank you Lucius. I don't know why I was being thanked but I just accepted it as it was. "Lucius I know this is a little strange to ask of you...but do you think I can stay the night in here?" I was a little shocked at first not know what I was going to say but then I remember what dad had said to me earlier. After he was done teaching me about my new power he mentioned to keep Y/N safe and to keep her close. I nodded my head and she gave me another hug this time just a normal friendly hug and not a crying on your shoulder type of hug.
I put the flashlight, pencil and notepad away and climbed into the bed first then she came in. Not gonna lie but it was awkward just laying on my back in my pjs (without a shirt on) in my bed with Y/N next to me laying on her back in her nightgown. At one point she reached over and grabbed something. "Hey it's the rabbit I got you for Christmas." I nodded. "Must really mean a lot to you if you sleep with it at night." She chuckled and turned and smiled at me. I felt my face getting warmer. I nodded again. "Thanks again Lucius for letting me stay the night with you. Umm this is another weird question but do you think I could hold the rabbit while I sleep?" I didn't mind at all and for the third time I nodded my head. Damn it's times like these I really wish I could speak. "Thanks Lucius."
15 minutes later
What dad said couldn't get out of my mind. Originally this was all a plan to just get help in this right? She was just supposed to be a killing assistant type of thing not a person I was supposed to watch out for and protect. Jeez life's a bitch that doesn't make any sense sometimes. I felt Y/N roll over and something hit the floor it probably was the rabbit. Now she was basically pressed up against my side with her left arm on my chest . I stayed absolutely still not wanting to wake her but also freaking out in my mind. After about 12 minutes of this I couldn't take it and just went to bed.
