Chapter 4                   
August 4 1979
Y/N POV
I woke up to the sound of house rattling thunder. This was a disappointment to me I was planning to play outside with Felix. I got dressed and made my way downstairs. In the stairwell I could hear Ivor swearing at something. The poor fool was probably drunk again. The spew of swears came to a stop and I hear him attempting to fix something. Ever since Gene died I've been avoiding the kitchen maybe it was cursed, I have no clue if it is but both Mary and Gene died in there and that was enough to keep me away. "Good morning Y/N. Are you hungry?" Jovita said to me. "Good morning Jovita." I replied. "I'm not that hungry but it's probably good to eat something." "Yes! As my mamá always said 'empieza tu día con un buen desayuno' start your day with a good breakfast. Here have an apple" Jovita handed an apple. "Thanks" I said and sat down at the table. "No problem cariño" With that she walked away to the laundry room. After I was handed my apple I headed in the direction of the tv. Something seemed off maybe it was because it had been almost two months since Mary's death and a month since Gene's. Then as soon as I noticed it, I got the chills. The cross that usually is hung on the wall was upside down. I backed away from it knowing it wasn't a good sign. Who or what could have done this? Did it just fall or did Susan or Jovita accidentally hit it when dusting and not notice? I should try to fix it I thought to myself. I got on my tip toes and tried to reach it but to my disappointment I still couldn't reach it. The sound of someone walking as well as Ivor's slurred speech got my attention and made me dart for the nearest couch. I was afraid that if someone saw me they would think I turned the cross upside down and then I'd be sent to live with my aunt again and I didn't want that. It was Ivor who entered the room with oddly enough Lucius following him. Ivor seemed to have his to-do list in his hands and got down under the piano and started working on it. Lucius had his back towards me and just seemed to be watching Ivor. Lucius stuck out his arm as if he was trying to gain control of something. That's when something that I will never be able to unsee happened. The piano seemed to shake and then the legs broke off. My eyes grew wide and I covered my mouth with my hand to prevent myself from gasping out. The piano was now levitating. Lucius never moved once during this whole thing. Ivor had rollen on his back and was now comprehending what was going on. He tried to move but it was too late. The piano had fallen and smashed his head. Ivor was now dead and I was going to faint. Lucius put his arm down and then darted his head in my direction. He saw me and in his eyes were flames in them. Then everything went dark.
Lucius's POV
Another damned soul for my father. I had just killed Ivor the handyman. I wouldn't even really call him handy he was always drunk and the things he said he "fixed" were always broken the next time they were used. I heard a gasp from behind me and turn around as fast as possible. It was Y/N. She saw the whole thing. Looks like she'd be my next victim by the end of the day. That's when I heard a thud and the sound of fire burning and the smell of smoke and burnt flesh. Father was here to see me. But why? He never comes in the day only at night when everyone's asleep. "Lucius my boy" he said. "Well done. You've been a very good boy and collected another soul for me." He said while smiling with an evil smile. I turned my attention back to Y/N. Was he here to help me with getting rid of her? "You can't have the girl Lucius." This brought my attention back to him. I had fucked up. She saw me kill Ivor with my powers. Would father be able to wipe her memory? Would he take her with him back to hell? Would I get in trouble for being caught like an idiot? He must've noticed my expression change to confusion because what he said next surprised me on a whole 'nother level. "This girl is a special girl Lucius. She is the key to winning The Rapture. She is the key to winning the war. Lucius you will need this girl by your side. Keep her safe and teach her our ways. She'll be asleep most of today. I will see you tonight my dear son, until then get out of her and take her back to her room and watch over her." With that he disappeared and I was left to carry Y/N upstairs without attracting any unwanted attention. I walked over to her and picked her up bridal style. I made my way to the stairs and started making my way to her room. I got to the top f the stairs when I heard a loud shriek knowing that my mother had found the body downstairs. I let out a small growl and eye roll as I finished making my way to her room.
