Uniqua finally broke from his entrancing gaze. The crowd was staring at them in awe and cheered for the duo to come back on the dance floor. Caillou scratched his bald head and motioned his arms in a way that said "calm down guys, we're good." Caillou was really good at body language, and Uniqua could tell. He looked back at Uniqua and gave her a smile that made her smile back just as hard. Out of nowhere, Pablo came up to the group. For some reason, Pablo looked a little nervous. His eyes seemed wide and it was if he was almost scared to approach them.
"Wow... you guys were amazing!" Pablo said with an almost sarcastic tone.
Uniqua felt this awkward tension. Pablo just looked at her almost disappointed while Caillou showered him in thank you's and laughs. She couldn't help but feel that something was off with him. He wasn't the same happy penguin that was fine just a short while ago. "Pablo, you should've danced with us!" Uniqua said in a cheerful tone. "Pablo I forgot you were in show choir! Cmon you actually could've danced with us!" Caillou replied. "Haha, yeah." Pablo said as he immediately walked to the other side of the backyard.

"What's his deal?" Caillou said. "I uh... I wish I knew." Uniqua said with hesitation. "Well I wonder what was bothering him so much. I hate to see people so upset at such good parties!" "I know!! Things just get so complicated as we get older huh. Feels like everyone was just a happy-go-lucky kid and then BOOM. We got problematic hahah." "I wouldn't say problematic, we just happened to understand the world a little more. You know, society and stuff. I was just a kid who was 4. But, each day I grew some more. I loved exploring. I'm Caillou! It's just apart of our life, this never ending cycle of growing." "You're right Caillou. I guess it's like... we had rose colored glasses on during our childhoods and now they're slowly coming off in a way? I don't know that sounds kinda dumb hahaha." "No it's not dumb, I understand you. You're pretty smart, don't forget that."
When Caillou complimented Uniqua, it made her feel this sense of acceptance. This guy who she barely talked to at school made her feel like she was actually being seen as an individual and not some random girl in a random class. She glanced into his black eyes and for a moment, just for one, small moment, their eyes clicked into one another's. She quickly looked away and so did he, but it made Uniqua happy inside. She snapped back into reality as she realized that Pablo was upset and in order to be a good friend, she had to solve the problem.
