The nature trip went on safe and sound, from hearing about the habitats of different animals, to looking and trudging through the streams, looking for the animals that helped analyze the state of the water.
(This was most of the girls' least favorite activities in the whole trip, despite wearing their boots.)
A few girls, including Stella and Reyna, weren't affected by such.
They also learned about the different creatures native to Oakwood as all of them carefully observed an osprey's nest in tree near the lake.
"This is boring," Tony complained, rolling his eyes at the assignment they were all given.
"Shut up." Dex laughed, peering a little more through his binoculars.
The guide then took them around the nature trail they were taking, and showed the different trees native to Oakwood. She definitely didn't count out the tall, breath-taking oak trees that gave Oakwood it's name.
"These trees have been here for what has been estimated to be around even during the time of the dinosaurs," the guide explained. "They are very special to our town."
"Where are we going next?" a girl piped up before they started walking again.
"To see the coniferous trees. Afterward, we'll be going to the nature center." the guide answered.
Thank goodness, Stella thought. This trip will be over in a jiffy!
However, the girl who spoke up started to panic.
"Oh no!" she screamed. "I'm TOTALLY allergic to the pine trees! Please don't, or my mom would not be very happy with me!"
The group was met with many students giggling and snickering. Stella rolled her eyes in disdain, and Erin met the girl's eyes with a smirk.
"Well..." the guide sighed, "I guess if that is the case, it is onward to the nature center."
Stella definitely COULDN'T wait for this trip to be over.
