Chapter 21 - The Flight

Leah's POV
6 months later

I pick up my last shirt and place it in my suitcase on the bed. I place my hands on my hips and look at all the bags in various places around the room.

I sigh as I close the bag resting on the bed  and place it on the floor. Just then I feel Luke's arm snake around waist. He took time off work for our trip so he is at home with me.

"Hey," He says as he places a kiss on my cheek.
"Hey babe, did you call your family to confirm a time for the flight," I say as I turn around and wrap my arms around his neck.
"Mhm," He reply's as he places kisses down my neck and collarbone.
"Babe I need to get ready," I say as I playfully step out of his grip and run out the room.

He chases me down the stairs and catches me in the kitchen. I toss a rag at him  but he moves out the way and finally takes me in his arms once again. He pecks my lips and moves away smiling down at me.

"I guess it can wait," I say as I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He smirks at me and carries me up into our bedroom.

I wake up in Luke's arms and smile when I see him. I turn to look at the clock. 17:00. We have to be at the airport by 18:00
"Shit! Luke wake up we have to get ready," I scream as I try to shake him awake.

He shoots up and realizes what I said. Luckily I had already laid out my outfit and he just grabbed the nearest clothes. We dressed as fast as we could before grabbing our bags and running to Luke's car.

We arrive at the airport 10 minutes late to find a very stressed Phil and Claire trying to book into our flight.
"Hey guys," I say waving them over to Luke  and I.
"Oh my God, Leah thank god you are here. The woman at the flight kiosk says we aren't booked into any airline," Claire says frantically as she motions to the rest of the family freaking out.
"Yeah about that I didn't want to tell you all earlier because I knew you would all refuse but I booked us a private jet," I say as I hold out our passes.
"Leah.. I.... we," She starts but I interrupt.
"I have already paid and it's not worth getting us other tickets"

We get on our plane 2 hours later. It is huge. Each couple has third own bedroom and the kids have a tv room with beds. Their is also a big room with a bunch of chairs.

"Wow!" Haley says as she sets the kids bags on the couch.
I smile as I see Luke's family react to the plane. I know that it seems like I'm trying to buy third affection with money but it's quite the opposite I'm actually trying to pay them back for the affection they have shown me without my asking.

Just then little Alexa runs over to me and jumps into my arms. "Aunt Leah," She says with a smile as I pick her up and spin her around.
"Hey monkey," I say with a smile.
She smiles at me and than rests her head on my shoulder.
"You guys wanna see your Tv room." I say to the kids
"Yeah," they say in unison and I lead them to the room.
I put on lion king and try to explain to them how they will be able to see all those animals in South Africa. They must have been tired because soon they fall asleep. Alexa was on my lap so I carefully place her in her bed and tuck her in. I place a kiss on all three of their heads.

As I am about to leave the room Luke's walks in and I place my finger over my mouth to keep him quite. He smiles at me and nods as he places his hand around my waist. I rest my head on his shoulder as we watch the kids while they peacefully sleep.

"Have you ever though about having kids," Luke whispers in my ear.
I shake my head.
"I love kids but I was always scared that something would happen to me and they would have to be as destroyed as I was when my parents died,"I say as I feel a stray tear slip down my face.
Luke wipes it away and smiles slightly as me.
"I promise you we are safe," he says as he pecks my cheek.

I just nod. The concept of kids has always scared me I don't know why.
"You are so good with these kids. I'm sure you would be a great mom." Luke says as he moves a strand of hair out of my face.
"And you would be the best dad, but not yet okay," I say with a giggle.
"Okay, but Leah I have something to tell you, maybe we can go to our room now,"He says with a smile and kisses me gently.
I smile at him and pull him into our room on the other side of the plane.

"So Mr Dunphy what is it you have to tell me," I say as I pull him into the bed with me.
"Well Miss James, I got promoted the week before we left," he says with a smile.
"Ah babe that's great I'm so happy for you," I say as I place my lips on him to kiss him passionately.
"That's not all," He says inbetween kisses.
"It's not," I say with a smirk as I look into his deep brown eyes.

"The position I got promoted to is in LA. I moving back," He says with a smile.
I am so happy. I jump into his arms and place kisses all over his face.
