The next few days went by too slow and Lisa was aching for Saturday to finally come. She spent every night outside Jennie's apartment that week, fantasizing about what would happen on their date. She played so many different scenarios in her head. She couldn't wait.
Work was long, the days dragged, the evenings dragged even more since Jennie hadn't been to Bam's since she'd asked her out. Jennie apparently had a lot going on at work before she got her two week winter break at school.
When Saturday did finally come, Lisa couldn't contain her excitement. Shle was up early, after barely sleeping at all. She had gotten back from watching Jennie's place around 3 a.m. She had trouble sleeping and gave up and got around at 7 a.m. She used her bundled energy to shovel the driveway; they had had a big snowfall the night before. She did about 200 pushups and ate breakfast.
She went through her clothes several times over before she decided on a pair of jeans, a grey undershirt and a blue and black button up flannel. The blue in the shirt made her brown eyes look almost black. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. She looked at herself in the mirror for a long time, deciding she looked menacing, but only when she frowned. She looked over her features, to herself; she was an intimidating looking woman . But she hadn't scared Jennie away, not yet. Furthermore, she knew she wouldn't be frowning tonight, so she decided to keep the outfit.
She changed out and laid the outfit on her bed, she didn't want to stain or wrinkle it. She did more pushups, then she showered and for the first time since she'd been out of prison, she completely her hair. Afterwards she looked at herself and instantly regretted it. She looked like a completely different person, her skin was pale and she didn't recognize her fucking forehead. They weren't things she saw often. 'Jennie's going to think you look disgusting,' she thought to herself. 'Fuck, I've ruined everything.'
Lisa stood in her room stressed about her forehead for over an hour, she kept slapping herself in the head telling herself how stupid she was to fix her damn hair. She paced the small room like a lion in a cage. She felt like she was in prison again. But then ahe'd tell herself, 'no maybe she'll like it.' She contemplated this over and over until she noticed it was already time to get ready and go.
She got dressed, ran her fingers through her hair a few times, sprayed on some cologne she had bought, stopped at the store and picked up a bouquet of pink roses and headed to Jennie's. Her nerves were shot; her heart was beating harder than ever before, her stomach churned with anxiety and butterflies. She was worried, excited, nervous and turned on, all at the same time. When she made it to her door she took a big deep breath and knocked.
Lisa stared at the flowers in her hand, waiting for the door to open, she tried to control her breathing, but it was tough. She heard shuffling inside and then the door opened. She looked up and there stood the most incredibly gorgeous human being she'd ever laid eyes on. Jennie always looked beautiful, but tonight she looked her best.
Lisa looked over her body, taking in her perfect shape. She had black leggings on, hugging her body beautifully. She was also wearing a tight navy blue sweater. She looked up at her face, flawless and glowing. Her cheeks were flushed, Lisa didn't know if it was makeup or her natural tone, but it was adorable. Her full lips were tinted slightly with a dark pink and looked so soft. Then she met her eyes, her hazelnut cat like eyes, outlined with black liner and mascara, her lashes full and long. They sparkled as she smiled at her.
"Hi!" she said, opening her door up for Lisa. Jennie looked over her face, then down to the flowers. "Come in." She stepped aside and let Lisa in; she stood for a moment by Jennie's door before handing her the flowers.
"Here, these are for you." Lisa said. She felt like an idiot, standing there, shoving flowers in her face. 'Smooth,' she thought.
"Oh, thank you Lia, they're beautiful. I love them."She gushed as she took them and walked into the kitchen. As Lisa kicked off her shoes, Jennie placed the flowers in a vase she got out of a cupboard. Lisa stood near the door, unaware of where to go next. She felt dumbfounded. She just watched Jennie as she went about the kitchen. Jennie looked over at her and smiled, "Come in, silly," waving her hand for Lisa to come over. She nodded and walked towards the kitchen. Jennie smiled up at her face, looking her over. "Hey, wow, you look...so different with your hair like that," Jennie's eyes scanned over her skin, the smile never faltering.
