Chapter 20: In hiding

Somewhere in outskirts of London

Paul's POV

Me and Patryk waited for the boss to arrive, he should be here any moment. He also mentioned in a text if a black van showed up instead of a red car to not open for them. I was concerned to say the least, for what was going on.

But also for Krissten. She was like a little sister to me and Pat, she was too sweet and kind. I hope it's not too concerning...

Just then I heard the engine of a car, and I heard Pat speak. "Hey, they're here... Red car." I nodded, and took the chains off the door and opened it. The boss walked in with his friends and Krissten following him, but she looked worried while they looked upset. The Ginger look the most distraught, I kinda felt bad for him.

Krissten's POV

There was a table in the center of the warehouse, and the guys sat down at it. Tord pulled a chair in front of them and motioned me to sit down, I did so. "Alright Krissten, tell us. We need to know the truth!" Edd exclaimed, the guys nodding, causing Paul and Patryk to look at each other confused. I exhaled a breath I held in and looked at them, I couldn't hide now...

"Alright, so, I have known you guys before I meet you..." This caused Paul and Patryk eyes to widen, but they stayed silent. "But, that's because I'm from an alternate world from yours..." More eyes widened, but continued silence. I continued, "My parents are workaholics, very big ones. I hardly get to spend time with them, ever since I was six. But it was different when I was five... We were a family, a really good one. But when..." I swallowed saliva, my voice stuck in my throat...

The words having trouble coming out, but I couldn't let this stop me, no matter how much it hurts me. "My... My brother was with us. Dominic was his name, hence was... He went to military, came back. We were happy. We were a family. But it changed when he went back..." I could feel the tears run, "He was announces DIA... He... He promised he would come back to me, but he didn't, and that's when everything changed. My parents became distant, sucked and involved in their work, they pushed me away. If I were to try and get their attention to ask or do something with them, they would bat me away as if I didn't mattered. Like a fly on... their shoulder..." I didn't want to look up...

I couldn't stop, the tears running, but I had to get it out, I had to vent. "They treated me like I was nothing, I've had to take care of myself without no parental guidance aside from Miss Val and Mr Miguel! They were more like parents than they will ever be! That's when I found out about my dad's new project, a gate that can take you anywhere in the multiverse. I made it so I can come here! Where I'm from, this world is a series on YouTube, but it's more than that to me! I look up to you guys! You make me feel better when I'm upset or feel lonely! You guys are... My heroes. So I figured if I'm somewhere else, they'll have a better time with their work! Somewhere where I belong!"

I then started to laugh, laugh alot. "I just realized something, you know? I ran, I ran from the rescue squad... You know what that means? He he he he..." Silence. "Ha... This is my home, I don't wanna go back. I wanna stay here! If they think they can take me, they'll have to take me by my hind legs! Dragging me by my ankles if they try! I'm not leaving! Not for a second!" I shouted, slamming my hands on the table in anger.

I've made my choice, no going back now... The boys stayed silent, and I understand that. They hate me but I don't-

Something enveloped me in an embrace. I looked up, I saw ginger hair. "M-matt?" He hugged tighter, hiccuping and sniffling. I could feel my shoulder getting wet, he must be crying. I heard him say something but it was muffled, "What?" I said softly. He drew back and wiped his eyes with his sleeve, "I-I... I said, I don't want you to leave either..." My eyes widened, I was surprised. He had been silent this entire time cause he was afraid of me and the truth I was hiding! "You can't leave!" He announced, making be snap out of my thoughts. "After everything we've been through! I... I won't let them take you!" He said/yelled, his eyes glowing red showing his vampire side, surprising me. I felt a hand on my back, I look to see Edd and Tord. "They're not taking you on our watch! We'll make sure of that." Edd said, Tord nodding.

I saw Tom walk from behind Matt, and he glared. "If they think they can take you away, they're idiots to mess with us!" Paul and Patryk nodded while said Dutch man held up his fists. I started to tear up from all this, "You guys..."
