CHAPTER THIRTY:THE WEDDING PREPARATIONS

Dee's POV....

To say I was living in utter bliss would be an understatement. Not even the super awkward meetings with Cara and her cronies could dampen my moods.
Its been three days since Alex and I got it on in the closet and let me tell you, it was then best feeling ever. Its like a new chapter in our lives have been turned.

Let's rewind a bit back to that day...
Right after our fuck session in the closet, he moved us to the bathroom where we showered and had more sex before moving to the bed where he made love to me twice before we finally collapsed and fell asleep in each others arms.
We've had sex any chance we get since that day and every time gets better and better and I fear am getting addicted to him. Hes practically ruined me for any other man out there, not that he hadn't already done that before as I was madly in love with him and i wasn't complaining either.
Everyone else in the family had noticed the shift in our relationship too. I mean you'd be blind if the amount of PDA we displayed was pretty obvious.
Everyone except you know who was happy for us. Actually ecstatic would be the right term. In fact the ladies had already started planning our wedding, Ruby and Alessa leading the troop. And apart from the constant teasing from them and the guys about how loud I was and how I had the "just fucked out off my brains " look on my face, I was actually enjoying this.
Marcus even joined in on the teasing from time to time whenever we had our "meetings" which earned him a couple of chest slaps but I found that I was slowly warming up to him.
Our encounters kept getting better and he seemed to be getting more suspicious about Stephen and Miranda and his suspicions were right on track as he had spotted them more than once having secret talks and although he had no idea what they were planning he vowed to find out what they were up to before the wedding. And willingly accepted to help him get to the bottom of it. And it hurt me to keep this from Alex and his family but i knew for his own good that it would be better for him to not know what was going on first and once we had solid evidence we'd go to him.

The wedding was now three days away and the house was buzzing with activity. And although I had no intentions of being apart of the planning as Cara didnt want me a part of any of it, I still found myself helping here and there.

My friends and sister were meant to arrive any day now according to Alex who refused to tell me when they would exactly touch down, claiming he wanted it to be a surprise*he can be so sweet* although as it was I was already excited as it was.

"So does this mean you and dad are going to get married?" Asked Zoe her eyes stilled glued to the TV in our room.
Since we hadn't really spent time together, the kids, Zoe and Zack had decided to come hang out with me and binge watch movies and have a mini sleep over in our room. Alex was busy so he planned to join us later, not that we minded as we got to talk about everything and anything just like old times and I felt like our bond was getting stronger by the moment.
Zoe's question had taken me by surprise as we hadn't talked about me and her father since they came in here. But I knew sooner or later the question would come.
Zack looked from the TV and they both turned to look at me waiting for my answer.
"Thats a bit too far ahead. I honestly don't know what we are but I think he's my boyfriend for now. Why do you ask?" I answered them honestly.
And I was being honest. Truth be told, we were yet to discuss what we were. And I was in no rush anyway, after all we just started to get close three days ago. I wanted to savor what we had for now. Enjoy the moment. And I was also scared that pushing him for a title would push him away and id loose him and I didnt think my heart could handle loosing him at the moment.
And I know, you're probably wondering why I wouldn't sugar coat stuff with them being kids and all but like I had said earlier, these kids were too smart for their age and mature too. And I had come to see them as my friends more than kids I used to babysit.
"Well, Zack and I have noticed that you two have been all lovey dove of late and we just wanted you both to know that we accept you." Zoe replied.
"Oh, you hadn't already accepted me?" I teased them.
"I mean we already did. But now, we wouldn't mind it if you became our mum." Replied Zack with a smile.
"awwww..." I told them and instantly attacked both of them with wet kisses and they retaliated, starting a kissing battle and Alex chose that moment to walk in to the room making us break our fight.
"What did I miss?" He asked smirking as he crossed his muscled arms on top of his chest and I instantly felt myself getting wet. We just looked at him, naughty smiles on our faces.
"Nothing." Quickly replied Zoe and we looked at each other, giggling as if we had an inside joke then looking back at him .
He narrowes his eyes playfully as he walked towards the bed in a predatory manner that had me clenching my legs to curb the  sweet sensention he brought to me.
"Uh oh!" Exclaimed Zoe feigning a scared look and she and Zack moved back while I looked on confused.
"You three better spill or there will be hell to pay." He said just before he reached the foot of the bed.
"We are sworn to secrecy." Zack said.
"A blood oath." Added Zoe and they both giggled.
"Oh, you're sworn to secrecy?" He asked and we all nodded, joining the two although I had no idea what was about to happen.
"Last chance to back out..." He added and when he saw that we weren't breaking he jumped on the bed taking Zoe into his arms and tickling her and Zack and I jumped off the bed shrieking in excitement, running opposite directions leaving Zoe to the mercy to a relentless Alex.
"Help me!" She cried as Alex continued his torture and I jumped in to save her only to have Alex get me too and Zack jumped on top of his DA to try and save us, making Alex release an omphh and he managed to let Zoe slip away leaving me there screaming and laughing that I nearly peed on my favorite pajama pants.
Zoe came to my rescue, surprising Alex with a pillow hit to his face. He stopped surprised and Zoe burst into a fit of giggles.
"Oh its on!" He said, releasing a war cry and next thing we know, it turned into a huge pillow fight.
This went on for a few more minutes before we all decided to give up and laid on the bed, laughing and my heart swelled at the sound of joy filling the room.
It made me happy to be able to see Alex and the kids playing around and I felt honored to be included in. For the first time I felt like my world was complete there and then.
"Now will you guys include me in your little conspiracy?" Alex asked still not giving up.
"Nope." Answered Zack.
The kids were in between, Zoe next to me while Zack laid in between her and Alex as we watched the remaining feathers that had managed to escape the now ruined pillows. Oh how I was going to miss my soft pillows.
"Can I at least give something in return?" He tried to bargain as he leaned his body on his left elbow, his head resting on his hand as he faced us and I emulated him on the other end, both of us looking at the kids.
They both shook their heads no with smirks identical to that of Alex making me smile more at how much they resembled.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you guys are about to waste." He added making the kids now contemplate their choices.
"We get whatever we want?" Asked Zoe.
"Anything." Alex replied with a smile.
The kids looked at each other as if having a secret discussion making both Alex and I laugh before they both shrieked deal in unison.
"We have a deal." They said each shaking hands with Alex.
"Wait, last time I checked I was part of the deal too and I haven't agreed to what you guys have decided." I exclaimed, narrowing my eyes playfully at them.
"Trust us, you'll like what he will give in return." Replied Zack and after a silent eye battle I gave in with a sigh.
"Fine. I better like what we are getting in return." I said sitting upright and crossing my arms across my chest.
"Well what do you guys want then?"
Asked Alex as he sat up leaning his body on the headboard and he took the remote pausing the episode that was still playing on the TV.
The kids emulated us and got comfortable before Zack replied.
"We'll collect soon."
"But for now, we will let you in on our secret." Zoe added to her brother's statement.
"Well...." Persisted Alex.
"We were asking Dee if you two will be getting married." Zoe decided to break the ice and her statement shocked Alex that he turned to look at the three of us wide eyed and for the first time I saw him get caught unaware. Clearly he wasn't expecting them to be so bold which was funny seeing as they both took so much from his character that it shouldn't shock him now at how bold they could be. Maybe he had missed this about them seeing as he had buried himself in work for years, so I couldn't really blame him. I on the other hand wasn't so shocked.
"Well, What made you guys come to that conclusion?" He asked nervously and I wanted to laugh at his expression had it not been that this had now turned serious.
"Well, we've noticed how close you to have become." replied Zack.
"And the fact that you two are going to have babies together, we thought it was obvious that you two would get married." Replied Zoe completely unfazed by her father's reaction to their revelation.
"Well, in modern times, people who have kids together aren't always married I mean look at your aunt Alessa." I tried to step in and save Alex who had completely gone mute.
"But She and Uncle Dante were married before." Said Zack.
"True. But now they aren't because sometimes things don't work out when you are together but you work better when separated." I answered trying to make them understand.
"So, you two won't live together?" Asked Zoe.
"I don't want to have to only see you and our sisters when you come visit once in a while.." Said Zack getting sad.
"Look buddy, its true that Dee and I have gotten close and she is my girlfriend but we can't promise that we will live as a family. Why don't we go one step at a time and see where things go?" Alex said as he put his arm around Zack bringing him to his side.
"What your dad is trying to say is that you should focus on the fact that we love you both and that we should enjoy what we have now. Okay?" I added and after a while they both nodded though they seemed sad but they were smart enough to take our answer for now.
"We'll take that for now." Replied Zoe and Zack nodded in agreement and I looked at Alex who smiled at me then mouthed a thank you my way.

We ended up watching some shows on cable to pass time till dinner.
Right after dinner, Marcus texted me telling me to meet him in the green house garden because he might have a lead.
I made an excuse that I wanted to take a walk alone in the garden and Alex finally managed to relent after convincing him that if anything happened I'd call him.

I found Marcus pacing around the large room but he stopped once he saw me.
"I thought you wouldn't come. Alex has been like your shadow that its so hard to get you alone." he told me with a small smile.
"Id have told you if i couldn't Make it." I told him then sat down.
"I finally managed to get them on record." He said getting straight to the point.
"Oh my gosh! Thats awesome! How?" I asked giddy and excited that we finally had evidence on Stephen and Miranda.
Marcus came and sat next to me then removed his phone from his pocket, clicking on the gallery app on his phone and playing the thirty minute video of Stephen and Miranda, which started with the two heavily making out which then turned into them fucking on the wall (We sped forward that part which thankfully reduced the video minutes to like five minutes). Right after you see them talking frantically and Stephen placing an A-4 envelope into Miranda's hands. Which she then opened, looked into its contents without removing anything then sealing the envelope again. They then talked for a few minutes before they parted with an intense kiss, Miranda walking out first after making sure the hallway were clear. Stephen then left a few minutes after.
"I found out the room they meet up in and placed a small camera in the corner of the room. The good news is we have them on record. The bad news is the camera can't record them talking so we don't know what they were saying." He explained after we watched the video.
"This is good enough for Alex to come on board. Ill talk to him tonight and see if we can set up something by tomorrow but I have to tell you that it won't be easy." I told him.
"I know. But I have a feeling that this will work out." He said hopeful and I smiled at him, his tone making my nerves go down a notch.
I was praying that we get to the bottom of this before its too late and i knew with the lead we had managed to gather we could at least set this thing in motion.
"By the way, let me ask. How did you manage to know which room they we're meeting?" I asked.
He smirked before answering.
"I managed to hack into Miranda's phone and linked her messages to my phone. I was able to trace the messages back to when we arrived and got the location. Then placed the camera during the day when everyone was busy with the wedding stuff." Impressed, i applauded him with a smile then squeezed his arm before thanking him.
"Its no big deal. We all have the same enemy. This will make both sides win at the end of the day." Was his reply.
We parted ways shortly after, assuring him that we will get to the bottom of this before the wedding. And even as I walked back to my room, all i could hope for was that i could manage to do my part of the deal.
I could only hope that I managed to convince Alex first.
