The crowd had seemed small from a far but as we got closer its like it had grown in seconds.
So as to not loose another Rodriguez child in the process of looking for the other one, I took Zoe's small hand in mine and turned her towards me just before we reached the crowd.
"Don't let go of my hand. No matter what. Hold on tight. I'll try to push my way through first then you follow. If you see him, tag my hand." I instructed her and after she had nodded I started our mission impossible: Finding a child in the largest park in Germany, part one:passing through a huge ass crowd when you are both barely five inch five in height.
You probably think am over reacting here but if you worked for a ruthless billionaire and happened to sneak their kids out of his compound and happened to loose his youngest child or any of them for that matter, you'd understand.

Pushing through the crowd was harder than I thought. And here I thought I had experience pushing through crowds having had to push my way to buy stuff and get food while in high school where I was in boarding.

Holding Zoe's hand firmly in mine, we managed to make it through the crowd, of course having to step hard on some people's feet or in Zoe's case, elbowing some guys hard on their knees, and I had lost all hope when my eyes landed on Zack, who was casually seated on the opposite bench, a chess stone table in between him and his opponent, a sixty year old man with a brown checked hat, a smirk widely gracing his features as he moved the chess pieces calmly across the make shift board.
It was then that I understood the chant going round as the crowd cheered, "boy champ" in German.

Zoe having spotted him stood beside me and we waited till he finished his game, which he obviously won before we went towards him.
He stood and came towards us with a huge grin that I forgot I was to scold the little guy but on seeing how happy he was, I felt my heart tug happily. I felt so proud that I had managed to make him that happy that I vowed to sneak them out as often as possible and if I could have my way, I'd talk to the arrogant ass and try to let him to allow us to come to the park.

"Hey little guy! You gave us a little scare there." I said when he hugged my legs. It wasn't a little scare but he didn't need to know that now did he?

He tugged me down so that I bent down to his level and when I had crouched down, leveling my ear with his mouth, he slowly moved his mouth closer then even slower, put his hand next to his mouth, blocking whatever he had to say to me to everyone else and what he said made me nearly burst into tears.
"Thank you so much. You are the best." He whispered to me and moved back, a huge grin on his face as his eyes shown with both genuine excitement and amusement upon seeing my shocked face and unshed tears, as if he knew what him talking to me would do to me. The little devil.
"You're welcome anytime champ. If it means you'll be this happy every time." I told him pulling him into a deep big hug, and despite my self control, I felt the salty waters leaking.

We drove back to the mansion right after we had had our fill of junk food from McDonalds  and I had managed to sneak them back in time.

We managed to go to the park almost everyday, and this went on for almost three weeks without Asshole Rodriguez as I had come to call him by, finding out.
The guards had even relaxed on me a bit and we had even become great friends to the point that I knew about more about their personal lives. It was probably the KFC chicken I brought back for them. They did say you could never go wrong with chicken*wink wink*.

During the three weeks, I had also gotten to learn more about the Rodriguez family. From what Zoe had told me, they had moved here from California about six months ago despite the fact that Arrogant Rodriguez had officially said that they had moved here two weeks before I got the job.
His whole family resided there and they had grown up closer to their paternal side than their mother's side. In fact they barely heard from their mum's side of the family which I found odd. I mean if they had consented to their daughter's relationship with Arrogant Rodriguez, then they'd try to keep in touch with her children even after her death right?
And that was just the tip of the iceberg. The secrets in this family ran deep than the ocean floor. In fact I was starting to believe it was more like how vast the outer space was, infinite with secrets.
I also learnt that the asshole had a girlfriend with whom they had dated for three years now and the kids hated the woman to bits. In fact they had nicknamed her wicked witch of the west. Even though I hadn't met the woman myself, from the description they gave me, I got a pretty vivid description of how she was. In fact I was surprised that after learning her name, I googled her and found out they had gotten her physical appearance to a T.
She was tall, beautiful and obviously blonde. Let's not forget that she was an heiress and a super model. In fact she made the Kardashians seem irrelevant when compared to her and from the tabloids I read before I got bored, her and Mr arrogant ass were pretty serious. She seemed so sweet and had numerous photos with kids she helped out with that you'd think Zoe and Zack, well mostly Zoe was lying about her. But you can never judge a book by its cover and i had had to learn that the hard way.

I had also gotten close to Valarie and Eddie. In fact, they commended me for making the children go out and have fun. In fact, they claimed that they (Zoe and Zack) had started acting more like children and were more bubbly and enthusiastic which they said they hadn't seen since their mother was alive, which was bittersweet as i was happy they were happy but sad that their joy had been missing for more than five years.

But like everything else, all secrets must come to light. And especially when you least expect it. And I hated how short lived our secret was. In fact I think it was the shortest kept Rodriguez secret.

It was a Friday when all went down the drain. I should have known that by just how bad the day had began it would cause a chain reaction. Am sure you're curious to know what exactly happened so I'll spare you the suspense and head straight to it.

It started like any normal day. Well at least for me. I woke up thirty minutes later than my alarm clock, this time I had the Winchester brothers to blame for my sleeping late. I had rushed into the shower, got dressed into the first thing I could take from my closet which happened to be a pair of black booty shorts, a black tank top and a grey hoodie, paired with my Adidas sneakers. I left my unruly curls free cause I didn't have time to struggle with it so it looked decent and with that made a dash to the door.
I hadn't noticed I had left my phone on my bedside dresser until I was at the mansion gate but despite having an almost mini attack when I remembered where I had put the tiny shit, I went with being optimistic and said it was good to be away from your phone once in a while.

The rest of the day went by without as much as an incident and I was thankful. Even the trip to the park was smooth.
Things however made a turn for the worst when the amazing sunny weather turned gloomy and shit and before we knew it, heavy rain befell us.

Drenched in rain water, we made a run for the car just as the rain got heavier. But as if fate was on a mission to make my day shitty, Zack, who I didn't know had asthma got a freaking attack. Why they failed to mention this important fact to me, is beyond me. I had to put my first aid lessons to good use and helped him calm down since I had forgotten my inhaler back at home.

As if that wasn't bad enough, on our drive back home, the shitty car decided to fucking break down and to make matters worse it was literally in the middle of nowhere.
How did this happen you ask?
Well, I wasn't looking where I was driving and I made a couple of wrong turns and as it turns out am pretty shitty at remembering directions so as I tried to find our way back I ended up loosing us further.
I would have used Google maps but as it turns out the kids didn't think it necessary to carry their tech gadgets that day, yet they did almost every other day. And let's not forget that clever me had left mine at home and didn't think to go back for it.

And that's how we ended up sitting in some creepy looking old man's lorry, with my car being dragged at the back. Despite how weird he seemed, he was actually a good guy and the fact that he was the only one willing to stop for a woman and two kids stuck in the middle of nowhere, drenched in rain water, didn't exactly give us an option to be choosy.

He tried to make conversation but he's German was deep and I found it hard to try and understand or keep up with him. The kids had stopped shivering as he had kindly given them a heavy blanket which although smelled musty and like cigarettes, did a wonderful job of keeping the kids warm.

We drove for about thirty minutes before he drove up the gate. Greg and Fred, upon seeing our drenched bodies didn't even waste a minute to open the gates, skipping their normal protocol, and the truck driver drove up the driveway. When he had reached the main entryway, we all thanked him, giving him back his blanket and I struggled to remove the chains from my car as I urged the kids to get into the house and get warm.
When I had finally finished with my damned car, I walked to the door, sniffing as I felt my nose run and I knew i was going to be bedridden with cold.

Opening the door, I sniffed my way in, groaning as I coughed some more. I was just about to close the door and head to the kitchen to make my flu concoction when a voice I knew too well and hated and dreaded made me stop.
"May I ask where the fuck you're coming from?" Boomed Arrogant Rodriguez's voice.
