The next day, Sunday, Thomas came back to the café. Earlier than Allyana today. It’s just around 7 when he arrived and there’s absolutely no one inside.

“Black?” Isla asked, breaking the silence.

“Yes.”

Thomas’s eyes went back to the door, waiting for a 162 cm tall, black-haired, brown eyed girl to come in.

“She’ll be here at 7.30.”

Thomas smiled to Isla as the reply for the very important question. Isla smiled back, putting his coffee on the side of the counter for Thomas to take it. He sat back down and kept staring at the door.

7.30. Sharp. The bell rang means the door’s opened. This time, the girl Thomas couldn’t stop thinking of since 7.00 walked in and said hi to her best friend behind the counter.

She took her seat and put out her book to be read. Minutes later, Isla finished Allyana’s daily order, Caramel Latte and put it on the side of the counter.

“Hey.” Calling Thomas.

Thomas looked up and Isla takes up Allyana’s cup of coffee while looking to Allyana. His brain quickly understood, ordering his feet to get up and get her coffee. He sat right in front of her, receiving two raised eyebrows and two brown eyes rounded up against his green eyes and his smile.

“Next is this.” Thomas started.

“So you’re the clue giver.”

“I am.”

“My coffee?”

“Three Act?”

“Not today.”

“Not fair, Allyana.”

“You know my name, I don’t know yours. Fair?”

“Fair enough.” Giving Allyana her coffee.

“Your name. Still haven’t got it.”

“Thomas.”

“Just Thomas?”

“Thomas Robert Hendley.”

“Allyana Stark Martin. Now we’re fair.”

In that moment of staring each other’s eyes, Allyana’s phone rang. She said sorry and picked the call up, answering a few yeses and ended the call. Like anyone else, Thomas asked what was it and she told him that it’s her neighbour telling her there’s a package arrived at her house earlier.

“You’re a fan of Agatha Christie’s works?” Asked Allyana.

“Yeah, you can say that.”

“Her books are the best of the best.”

“Seems you are a fellow fan?”

“I’ve been into mysteries and fantasies since forever?”

“Why?”

“The content is smarter, and it’s not boring to read.”

Thomas took a look at his watch and back to Allyana. He then apologized for leaving so early, asking Allyana if she would be here again tomorrow, and Allyana told him she would be here every day.

Then he left the café and Allyana smiled. Isla, back in the counter, leaned her body forward to the side of the counter to face her best friend.

“He likes you.”

“Hah. No way.”

“He really likes you and it’s so cute.”

“Why do you think he wears masks?”

“To keep it all clean?”

“Hm.” She thought.

Allyana stared back to her book and read every word with interest. The café was starting to get crowded and finally Allyana reached the end of her book. Her phone got turned on and 11.27 showed up telling the time.

She packed her things and got up with her empty cup of coffee. Waving and whispering goodbye to her best friend who was busy, serving a line of customers then stepped outside the café.

The next day, Thomas came as the first person to walks in the café.

“So you’re here first now huh?”

“Yeah.” He said and ended with a smile.

Not long after he just took his seat, Allyana walked in to her chair. Thomas moved from the table in front of her to the seat in front of her, smiling, and replied with a bright smile from her.

Isla, understanding the circumstance, took both of their order to their table with an “enjoy” and receiving thank you-s from both of them. The bell rang and another guy came in.

“Where is it?”

“Where is what?”

“My homework.”

“Not here, of course.”

“What?! I told you to do it since 3 days ago!” He said with anger in it.

“Look, I won’t be the one who doing your homework’s. Even if you told me to.”

“You little…”

“Ah, ah ah ah. You won’t say a thing in here.”

“You know I’m the strongest kid in school right? I have the power to kick you out.”

Thomas, whose attention caught in the situation, wanted to get up until Allyana held his hand and smirked. She tilted her head to her best friend, telling Thomas to watch her.

“You can find any girl that want to be told to do your homework but it’s not me. I won’t be the one. Go ahead find someone else to do it if you’re so smart and strong. And if you want to kick me out, please, by all means.” She said firm and gesturing a “please” with her hand by the last sentence.

“You’ll pay for this.” He said.

All Isla did was a smile. Allyana and Thomas both stared each other at the same time as Allyana raised her eyebrows, making Thomas laughed.

“She can handle it, right? My dear Isla?”

“Of course, he’s just an annoying daddy’s kid.”

“You’re cool.” Thomas said.

“She’s the coolest.” Allyana added.

“Awh, thanks you guys. That was nothing.” Isla replied.

Allyana turned on her phone to take a look at the time. It’s 7.13.

“Oops. Gotta go now. Sorry.” Allyana said as she packing up her things.

“I can drive you.”

“Oh. No. Please. I don’t want to…”

“I’m not doing anything after. Please.”

Will Allyana take Thomas's offer? Or not? Find out on Wednesday in the next part!
