The next morning came. The second day in the lake house. Allyana woke up, cooked breakfast, and called Thomas for breakfast. She cleaned the stuff they both used, sat by each other’s side on the sofa and watch their favourite serial of movies, James Bond.
Hours passed, they both fell asleep on the sofa, Allyana’s head on top of Thomas’s chest, rising up and down as he breathed in and out. The afternoon was like the day before. Allyana cooked lunch and later they both went to the dock for sightseeing, except for today, Allyana jumped off the dock into the water to get a nice swim. At least until the sun was down.
The moon had risen to it’s place. A perfect round full moon. It’s reflection could be seen on the peaceful water of the lake, it’s light shining through the curtains of Thomas’s bedroom where him and Allyana were. His bed was set and Allyana had taken her place on the sofa closing her eyes.
“Allyana.”
“Yes?” Reopening her eyes.
“Will you sleep by my side tonight?”
“Of course.” Said Allyana after a second of smile.
She moved to the bed where after she took position of holding Thomas. Then, they both went to sleep, along with the silence of the night.
The third day in the lake house went the same as the other 2 that had passed. But today, Allyana and Thomas played a game, snakes and ladders. The idea came out of Allyana’s thought to make Thomas happy in these days in the lake house. Since her nor him knew when their last sand fell to the bottom side of the hourglass.
Later in the afternoon, the two got to the dock again to watch the sun setting down. But tonight, they didn’t get in after the sunset. Thomas wanted to stay outside and told her that he wanted to gaze at the stars. And so they did what Thomas asked, gazing at the star. Allyana helped him got out the wheelchair laying on the dock beside her.
“Do you want to hear a story?” Thomas said not breaking contacts with the black sky.
“Sure.”
“Once. Upon a time, there was a boy who walked into a coffee shop. Inside that coffee shop, his eyes were glued to a human being sitting across him, a beautiful girl. She always read her book and so focused to it even when the coffee shop was so loud.”
Thomas paused looking at Allyana and she chuckled a little.
“Go on.” Allyana told Thomas.
“Then, everyday the boy would come to the coffee shop early in the morning just to wait the girl to walk in by the shop’s door. A few days later, the boy grew courage to finally start a conversation with the girl after they switched a few notes. The boy and the girl started to grow to friends. One day, he took her to the school and after school, he took her to her favourite place, the beach. But she said to him it wasn’t her favourite thing. Her favourite thing is stargazing, which she was really good at. So, when they went on the trip they had planned, he made her favourite thing happened. But then, things starting to get bad, he fell sick. He could no longer act like a normal person but even then she stayed on his side, every second, every minute, every hour, and every day. There was only one question rolling inside his head. How could she still love him after everything he put her through? How could she stayed by his side when he was very sick and unable to even support himself?”
A tear rolled down from Allyana’s brown eyes to her cheeks. She knew. She knew it’s their story.
“Well, the girl loves the boy. And the boy loves the girl. There’s nothing else they can say about it.”
“Allyana. How can you stay by my side this whole time? I broke your heart. I’m selfish.”
“You’re not, Tommy. You’re not.”
“How can you still love me? With all of my imperfections? You can find someone else who is better than me. A lot better. One who is healthy. One who can always spends time with you as long as possible. Outside. One who doesn’t wear masks, oxygen supply, relying on pills to stay alive. You deserve so much better, Allyana. You deserve the whole world.”
“But you, Thomas Robert Hendley, is the one I love. And I don’t love anyone else but you. I love you. And you love me. That’s what matters. And I will be with you until the end of the journey.”
“I love you.” Thomas whispered because of his cry.
“I love you more.”
Allyana hugged Thomas so hard as her tears started to stream like waterfalls.
This is the double update! The last part of the story will be published in Wednesday. What will happen then? See you real soon!
