Sam's POV:

I woke with Grace wrapped in my arms, her thinly clothed back pressed against my chest. Her deep breathing told me she was still fast asleep but just as I was contemplating how I could detach myself from her to have a shower her breathing became deep and shallow, more like pants, and she started tossing and turning.

I though she was just having a bad dream and reached out to wake her when she shot strait up out of bed, her eyes looking wild.

"Sam?" She said, her eyes searching the room, when they met mine I could see she looked panicked. "Sam, I feel really sick! I think I'm gonna hurl."

"Oh, okay, that's not good." I said really quickly before picking her up and running her into the bathroom, away from the carpet.

She threw up into the sink twice before falling to the ground and leaning against the wall. "Oh God. That was bad. Sorry, did I wake you? I'm really sorry Sam."

"Grace, don't be sorry. You didn't wake me and don't be sorry," I said. "Do you think it's food poisoning?"

"Yeah, I guess," She replied tiredly "All I want to do is sleep." She yawned.

"Okay Angel. That's probably a good idea, you can sleep off whatever that was," I said "Come on." I took her hand and gently helped her stand up before leading her back to bed and enclosing her in my arms.

She was asleep within seconds.

Grace was sick the next day too.

And the day after that.

"Sam, I'm really sorry, but I don't really want to do anything today. I don't think I'm up to it and I just want to sleep." Grace said.

"That's okay, Angel. I think I'm going to try and get in contact with Cole and see if he's got any idea about what this sickness is you might have. Maybe it's a side effect of the cure I didn't get." I said, thinking aloud. "Whatever it is I want you to get better soon." I said as I stroked her forehead. When I looked down at her face a few minutes later I saw that she was fast asleep again.

As I walked out of the room I heard her mumble in her semi conscious state, "I love you Sam," I turned around and said, "I love you too, Grace. So much."

The floor boards in the hallway creaked everywhere. So there I was walking down one end of the creaky hall to the other. An increasingly sick Grace at one end and what might be the solution to fixing her at the other and all I could think was how I couldn't bear to loose her again. I had just got her back, and I thought we would have forever. Now that was looking less and less likely.

When I got to the kitchen, I rushed strait for the phone. I decided I would try Isabel's number first but when it went straight to her voice mail I left a quick message asking for Cole to get in contact with me an that it was important before I tried his number and got the same response.

When Grace woke up and I told her about it she said, "Maybe we should just go see a doctor. You know, a human." She said reluctantly.

"I really don't think that's a great idea. I just... What if it's a wolf thing? I just get the feeling that we might regret it. I mean if there's no response from Cole or you get worse then sure we'll see someone strait away because their is no way I'm going to compromise your life but let's give it a day or so more, okay?"

"Yeah, okay Sam."

"I love you," I bent down to kiss her forehead "And I really hope you get better soon."

"I love you too. I hope I feel better soon as well."

Cole finally called me back the next day.

"Hey Sam. How are you?"

"I'm fine. You?" I said flatly, I didn't really want to got through this but I was asking for something of him so I figured I better be nice.

"I'm great, never been better," He said cheerfully. "I found Isabel."

"That's good, how is she?"

"She's fine. But I know you really don't want to be talking about this seeing as Grace apparently isn't so fine. So lets move on, what's wrong with her?"

"Right, well she's been really tired and sick for the last three days. It stared really early Tuesday morning, she just woke up and said she was going to hurl. Which she did. Hurl I mean. She woke up and threw up, then she said she felt really tired so we went back to bed and she was asleep within seconds. Pretty much the same thing has happened everyday since then. It's Friday now and she said she's not feeling any better. She hasn't even been out of bed, she just needs to sleep all the time and she said she feels achy all over." I blurted, relieved to finally be talking about this, especially to Cole who might be able to fix it.

"Well, what do you think it is?"

"I don't really know. I was thinking maybe it could be a side effect of the cure that I didn't have. Or maybe it's a disease in this area, if so then all our wolves are in danger," I said in a slightly panicked tone. "Look Cole, I think we're going to need you brain either way, and I'm really sorry because I know you just got Isabel back but we need you."

There was silence on the other end of the phone before Cole said, "Can I bring her? Can I bring Isabel?"

That was my cue for the silence before I said "I guess, if she's willing to come, because I'm not going to become part of a kidnapping. Oh, and she needs her parents permission, which could be a little difficult." I said. I really felt sorry for him, it was like something was working to keep them apart.

"Okay, I can do that. I'll be back down there tomorrow, hopefully, so I'll see you then Sam." He said before he hung up.

I trudged back down the hallway with a cup of coffee for Grace in my hand. When I opened the door I saw she was sitting up in bed, looking surprisingly bright-eyed. "Coffee for you." I said, handing her the mug which was covered by puppies playing with each other.

"Why thank you, just what I wanted," She said gazing at me lovingly. "Sam, you look worse than me, you look tired and unkempt."

"Geez, I don't think you understand how bad you look or you would have realised how offensive what you just said about my appearance was." I said with a smile.

"Yeah, well I'm thinking you really need a shower, but the thing is I really need one too and we only have one shower." Grace purred.

"Mmm, true. How do you reckon we could work around that problem?" I teased.

"Well, maybe we could share?"

"What a brilliant idea." I laughed before picking her up and carrying her the bathroom, as I had done so many times this week.
