AN: ....WELL this is one short horror for y'all i hope you guys don't lose your sanity. Really...this is the stupidest horror i've ever horrored somebody kill me TvT
Silence. Something that wrapped around his office like a blanket. People might have found it weird, but miles took comfort by the silence and the dimmed lights in his room. Not that he'd begun to care about people's opinion on his...tastes, he merely found it interesting he haven't tried to flee the darkness as much as he could noting the DL-6 incident.
And no one seemed to be much of a genius enough to realize there was a hell lot of difference between that elavator and his office. One of them being the aura they held. The elevator's aura was rather saffocating, while his office simply had a comforting ring to it.
Comforting silence or not, it soon broke off like a trance by a sharp ring in the air, and with a heavy sigh miles reached into his desk and lifted his phone to his ear. He didn't even spared the caller ID a glance as he spoke up.
"Edgeworth speaking." There was a sharp inhale of breath from the other side of the line, leaving a heavy pit in miles' stomach. His fingers tightened around the device without even realizing it.
"Miles." Came phoenix's voice, barely audible through the line, his breaths coming short and ragged as if he was being careful not to be heard.
That was enough to make miles' heart leap up to his throat.
"Phoenix?" He frowned, trying to keep cool and collected as his eyes darted around his room. "Is something the matter?" Phoenix let out a whimper, and miles could practically hear alarms blaring in his head as his free hand gripped the edge of his table.
"M-miles there's-" phoenix gasped, suddenly out of breath as miles waited impatiently for him to finish.
Something's wrong, his mind screamed at him. And much to his horror, he could hear a voice. A wail in the distance, sounding both like a little girl's and a demon's at the same time and that...was far too ominous for their good.
"I...can hear someone crying, miles-she-" miles clenched his jaw, feeling the beads of sweat on his forehead. "Who, phoenix? What does she wants?" At his husband's next words, miles found himself freezing on his spot.
"She wants to kill me."
"Hide. I've contacted the police." Miles took a deep breath, trying to keep calm for the other man's sake.
Freaking out wouldn't help your husband. Freaking out wouldn't save him from this. Don't freak out dON'T FREAK OUT...!!!
"It's no use...!" Phoenix whimpered, and miles felt his heart clench in his chest as he gripped at his phone uselessly, jaw clenched.
"I-i can hear her footsteps." Miles listened with a pale face, hand shaking on the desk. Phoenix was panting by now, his breathes cackling over the static at the other side of the line. Miles wondered what caused that, the service was pretty good at the wright and co. Offices.
"She's so close, miles. I can hear her breath-" the next sentence was cut off with a blood curdling scream and miles jumped up to his feet, his grey eyes blown wide with horror. There was a sound of flesh tearing apart and a dry giggle broke out, sucpiciously sounding like a little girl's.
"I've got you now, daddy~" she cooed coldly-
-and the line went dead.
