AN: I just love the AUs where gregory edgeworth survived the DL-6 incident. And the AUs where you know what's up with phoenix's parents(i mean, who ARE they? Are they even alive?). Hope you guys enjoy ^^,
Gregory edgeworth was officially done.
I mean, c'mon. It was really obvious that his son was in love with his childhood friend. And yet here they were, dancing around each others' feelings like a couple of imbeciles.
He wasn't sure exactly when his son started to fall for this man, but he was sure it had to be years. Meaning, it's been a while.
Miles didn't have friends until he was at fourth grade. Gregory was rather surprised when miles started to talk about two boys he happened to befriend, but he seemed to favor one of them more than the other.
He could tell whenever miles started to talk about a boy named phoenix wright. He acted like the boy exasperated him to no end, but the light in his eyes whenever he talked about him said a whole other story.
This boy brightened his son's day, stayed with miles through thick and thin without a second thought.
It was no surprise that his son fell in love with someone with a personality like that.
He casually sat on the couch, watching with curious eyes as his son paced around the room and complained about that man and the 'unnecessary feelings' he awoke in him.
With an exasperated sigh he lifted his cup to take a long sip, only to find it empty. Silently he put his cup on it's saucer, giving his son a pointed look which made him stop pacing all over the house.
"Miles." He patted the spot next to him, gesturing at him to sit and miles complied with a heavy sigh.
"I always knew you were smart, that's why it baffles me to see how oblivious you are right now." Miles looked slightly confused as he raised a brow, shifting in his seat to take a better look at his father.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Gregory fought back the urge to chuckle. His son looked as confused as a puppy right now, which wasn't something he saw much from chief prosecutor miles edgeworth often.
"You are aware of the small fact that you might be in love with a certain defense attorney, right?" Miles went a few shades red at the mention of that, his shoulders stiff.
"Th-that's rather preposterous, father." He muttered, "There is no way I'd want to be involved with that foolish attorney!" He exclaimed in a rather defensive way, and gregory gave him an unimpressed look. Even payne would be able to spot the lie in there.
"Is that so?" He raised a brow, giving his son a knowing smile. Miles looked even more flustered than before. "Yes." He uttered out, averting his gaze to the side.
The older attorney sighed. Sometimes he forgot how stubborn his son could get. He wasn't surprised, though. Miles edgeworth was his son, after all.
"Son," greggory reached out and placed his hand on miles' shoulder. "You're not fooling anyone." Miles' shoulders sagged, his eyes grim as he ran a frustrated hand through his hair.
"Am i that obvious?" Gregory smirked.
"What do you think?" Miles groaned, hiding his face in his hands. Greggory shook his head with a fond smile on his face, patting his back for comfort.
"It's been years, son. Why don't you tell him?" Miles tensed up, his head whipping up quickly to give his father a horrified look.
"No!" Gregory raised a brow. "And why is that?" Miles hesitated for a bit, before a shadow crossed over his features.
