Previously: It's crazy that I used to think all that stuff was Grayson and really it was just Ethan.

The day went by with no incidences from anyone. Probably because anytime I exited my classes Ethan was immediately within 5 feet of me, but he kept his distance. He was respectful that I wasn't ready for him to join my circle yet.

Then lunch hit. Remember the girl from yesterday who was in my fourth and her and the teacher were talking mad shit about me to my face? Yeah well word spread they pulled a gun on me and the teacher was fired during second period. They were in the process of getting the girl expelled but someone apparently had taken video of what happened. It spread like wildfire. I started to head to the lunch room until I was pulled backwards into an empty hallway away from everyone. I turn around to start yelling at whoever pulled me over here to see Ethan. From the look on his face I'd say he's terrified. "Someone pulled a gun on you yesterday?" "Worse things have happened to me E it's no big deal." "No big deal? No big- do you hear yourself right now angel? You could DIED yesterday!" "If death was gunna take me they would've done it by now. Ethan. Really. I'm fine. It's no big deal." " no it is. You should go home. You shouldn't be acting like it's nothing. You shouldn't be stand in front of me acting like it was just an everyday occurrence. Things like that don't happen everyday angel. And you certainly don't always have to pretend to be so strong." "Okay first of all who the fuck are you to tell me when I do and don't have to be strong? Secondly, I'm still here-" gun shots suddenly went off echoing throughout the main hallway. "WHERE IS SHE? THAT LITTLE SLUT THAT GOT ME EXPELLED. SHE SHOULD KNOW IM NOT GUNNA GO QUIETLY. OH CMON. YOU'RE NOT SCARED OF A LITTLE CONFRONTATION ARE YOU?" My eyes widen and I stare at Ethan. He knows I'm scared. He can tell. He pulls me farther into the hallwayk and pulls me into an empty classroom. "Shhhh shhh shhh" "Ethan-" "SHH" I begin to whisper. "E what if she goes after the kids? I can't lose them Ethan. I can't do that to Alana. Not because some psycho bitch at school thinks I'm a whore." I begin to ramble and almost start crying. Ethan smacks my shoulder. "Here's what we're gunna do. I'm gunna call the cops. Then, we're gunna go to their side of the school and make sure they're safe. After we check on them, me and you, okay? Listen to me, we're gunna make it out of here. All of us, okay?" I nod my head trying to comprehend what Ethan just told me but the only thing running through my head is that I'm gunna die or that psycho is gunna hurt one of the kids. I cannot have that. I grab Ethan's arm with both of my hands. "E we need to get to the kids. Now. I don't have a good feeling about this." "Just send the cops here now and tell the offices to put the school on lockdown. There's an active shooter on the high school side." Ethan hangs up and I follow him through the hallways carefully, leading us to the elementary side. We make it over there and I get Gavin and Penelope first. I hand Penelope to Ethan and take Gavin myself. We check the hallway and then we rush to Lily's class first since it's closest. Lucky me the wall between Lily and DJ's classrooms is open for today. I get Lily and find DJ. Thankfully there's also a side exit in DJ's classroom. The six of us use it to our advantage and escape along with all of lily and DJ's classmates. After we get the kids to safety Ethan and I head for my car. I still have an uneasy feeling about this. I ask if one of the cop cars can drive us to my car instead. Ethan and the girls get in and DJ. But before Gavin and I can get in, there's shooting again and the kids all start screaming. Frantically, I shove Gavin in the car and shut the door leaving me outside of the car. Ethan shakes his head. I can tell he's trying not to lose it in front of the kids. My eyes well up with tears. I put my hand on the glass and hit the top of the car twice signaling the officer to drive off. "It's me you want, right?" I turn around to face her. "Damn right. You got me fucking expelled just because you can't keep your damn legs shut." "Call me all the names you want but leave those kids out of it. They've done nothing wrong." "See that's where you're wrong. Being birthed by a slut is a great sin. Haven't you heard? The thing is you've never known what's it's like to be hated. Stepped on. Thrown to the side like you're nothing. But I'm here to make sure you know-" I hear another gunshot ring through my ears. Is this what death feels like?
