Previously: "wya? All ur stuff is here but u rn't?" "even ur car is here. Srly where r u?" "I'm fine. I'm just out. I'll b there soon." "U went out alone? This early in the morning? U hate mornings." "I'm not alone Ry. I'm fine. I swear."
Waking up the next day felt like torture. My head hurt so bad. But there was Ethan and Ryan. Coffee in hand and a smile. "Don't you losers have school to be attending?" "Technically I have a free right of pass to skip since I'm one of your emergency contacts at school. But him? He's totally skipping." Ryan points his thumb at Ethan. Ethan shakes his head "shut up dude" "you both should be at school" "we came to check on you. Since it's" Ryan checks his watch "11:30" "no way" "yes ma'am. So get up. Let's goooo" I hide my face under my blankets. I feel one of them crawl onto the bed and they take the blanket off of my face. "Hi" "hi" "You should really get up now" "but I don't want to" "you and me both girly but if we don't go Ryan won't stop" Ryan jumps on top of us "he's right you know. I'll just keep bothering you until you get up. So geT UP ANGEL LETS GO" "Why are you so eager in the first place?" "Because you have a doctors appointment today and I promised Sidney I'd make sure you got there" "ughhhh I don't want to get up though" Ethan cuddles himself into me "lemme talk to him" he whispers in my ear. I glance over at him and then roll my eyes, pulling myself to sit up. He doesn't move from where he's laying. "Okay. I'm up you whore. Now get out so I can get dressed." Ryan leaves the room and I look over at Ethan. "You can't be in here either, sir. You might be hot but you don't get to see that much of me yet." Ethan chuckles and sits up. "Whatever. We'll wait in the living room." He kisses my forehead and leaves the room shutting the door quietly behind him. "Mornings are disgusting, who the hell invented them anyway?"
After my doctors appointments the boys and I head out for food because I was literally starving. My phone vibrated and I look to see who texted me. Sid did. "How was the doctors?" "It was alright. Prescribed me some medicine for the headaches and Incase I become anxious." "Did you tell him about what's been going on with your memory?" "He said it's normal and if we keep trying that I should remember soon." "👍🏽" Ethan's watching me. "E, the light is green." "I see that" he steps on the gas making the car go again. That was weird. I look over at Ryan who's consumed in his own little world. "Has anyone checked on the kids and asked how they're doing?" Ethan looks over at me with concern written all over his face. "The kids?" "Yeah, the kids." Ethan and Ryan share a look through the rear view mirror. "Umm. The kids.. they.." Ethan cuts Ryan off. "They're good. Why what's up?" "Well just that I haven't seen them since I hit my head, at least not that I remember, so I just wanted to know if they were okay.??" Something feels off about the way that Ethan said they're fine. I'll have to go over there later and check on them. I was about to say something else but then Ethan pulls into the drive thru.
It's 2:30 and if I don't leave now I won't be able to pick the kids up on time. Plus it's Friday which means I have to stay with the kids until tomorrow night. I'm trying to leave but the boys won't leave. "Guys. I have to go pick up the kids. We can't stay in my apartment all day either. You both have to go home some time anyway." "You heard the doctor today. You're not allowed back at work yet. He even gave you a written notice so you have proof you can't go to work." "I don't even have that job today. It's just the kids." "Kids can be a lot to handle, you know. Especially four of them." I glare at Ryan. "He's right. You can't take care of them on your own when you're still injured and don't have all of your memory." "I can't leave them alone E. They're too young to walk home by themselves and stay there alone until their mom gets there. I'm going." I start to head for the door and Ethan stands up following me. "If you're not gunna take now then at least let me come with you." "I've told you before that their mom wouldn't appreciate me bringing strangers around them." "Am I a stranger to you?" "Kind of? I still don't entirely remember you Ethan." Ethan looks down at his feet. "Please don't go." He whispers. "I'm begging you, please don't worry about them. At least not today. They'll be taken care of. Trust me." I lift Ethan's head so I'm looking at his eyes. "Okay. But I'm warning you, I'm going later to check one them since today is a long day that I have to watch them." "What do you mean?" "I mean every Friday Alana doesn't come home. Her job flies her across the state to their main head quarters on Friday mornings and she doesn't come back until Saturday night most of the time." Ethan's eyes widen. "You really stay with the kids for that long?" "It's part of the agreement, so, yes" Ethan looks behind him "Ryan let's go" "now you're willing to let me go?" "Those kids need you. Just, call me if you need anything okay? Like if your head starts to hurt. Even if it's just a tiny bit. Or if you don't feel like making dinner. I'll bring it okay?" "I'm not completely helpless Ethan." "No but I want to make sure you know that you got me. Okay?" I nod my head. "Now, go, please. Or I'm seriously going to be late picking them up."
