*5 years later*

"Finally I can start drinking some cocktails." You say as you grabbed one of the martini's you had ordered from the bartender.

"Slow down, we just got here and its a classy party so don't get too trashed. My boss could be watching from anywhere and fire me for anything." Your best friend says as she slowly grabs the other drink and carefully sips from it as if she were a child trying not to get caught.

"I don't know why you don't just quit if you hate your boss so much-I mean, didn't you say he took credit from your idea at that meeting?" You said, eating the olive. (ugh olives)

"oh my gosh yes! I can't believe I forgot about that. What a douche bag-and I would be the asshole if I told his wife he was having "lunch breaks" with his assis-." She said, swirling her drink.

"Uh hm hm hm." You said, trying to interrupt her from continuing her sentence.

"What-what did I say?" She said as you pointed behind her with a straight face.

"OH, Mr. Lee, good to see you sir." Your best friend says as she shakes her bosses hand.

" Good to see you, Kim. I hope that will be the last time and only time I ever hear you say that sentence with the words, 'wife' and 'assistant' in it." He says with a sly smirk.

"Of course sir. May I introduce you to my best friend, Y/N, she works at Vogue as the magazine editor."

You shake his hand, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Lee. It's a pleasure."

"The pleasure is all mine. You know, I know someone would be amazing in your magazine and I believe he is here today." Mr. Lee says as he looks around. "I'm going to go find him. Stay right here."

He runs off in search of this mystery person while Kim, your best friend, looks at you with puppy dogs eyes.

You roll your eyes, already knowing what she is going to say, "You know I can't Kim. My boss would kill me if I hired a new model."

"Oh come on please, one would not hurt. This could get me that promotion I was talking about." Kim said.

You knew you would get into trouble if you hired someone new but this promotion meant so much to Kim and you didn't want her to be disappointed when she doesn't get it. One model wouldn't hurt. You can see in the distance, her boss and this mystery person coming forward.

"Brace yourself. There is going to be a lot of negotiating." Kim whispers in your ear as they approach.

"Y/N, was it? This is Soonyoung, a good friend of mine. Soonyoung, this is Y/N and my editor for the paper, Kim."

Your face drops as you see Soonyoung throw a smile at Kim and that smile drops as both of your eyes meet. It had been five years since the incident at the restaurant. You hadn't seen Soonyoung since. After he gave you his "new" number, you thought about texting him a thousand times but you never did. You thought you both would be better off but boy were you regretting that now.

"Have you two met before?" Mr. Lee says, sensing the tension between you two.

Soonyoung goes to say something but you interrupt him.

"No, no, we haven't. Nice to meet you, I've seen you in a few videos that came across my editorial staff before." You say, offering him your hand to shake. He stares back and fourth at your hand until he takes it softly, afraid that the handshake would be too tight.

You've reached the end of published parts.
