Chapter 19

"I'm looking for anyone here for Emma Rednauer." the doctor spoke.

I stood up as well as Rosie and Brooke.

"that would be us" I told him.

"I'm afraid your friend only has little time left. She could be gone in seconds, minutes, hours, or days. You can visit her before she passes room 425" he informed us.

It finally sank in.

Em was going to die.

This is all my fault.

If only I got to her before.

Now she was going to die.

I entered the room and tears prickled in my eyes.

This was the last time.

"hey Em how ya feeling?" I asked.

"oh nothing bad just awful and dying" she replied sarcastically.

"this is why we're besties even. In the worst situations you can still make me laugh" I told her.

"Em it's gonna be awful without you!" Brooke exclaimed.

"it won't be that bad" she replied.

"I'm gonna miss you Em" I said to her.

"we all are" Rosie piped in.

A tear rolled down my cheek.

"don't think of it as goodbye think of it as I'll see you later but a longer later than usual" she told me.

"this is all my fault. If I was there in time you wouldn't be in this position!" I quietly said.

"Ev it's not your fault stop blaming everything on yourself. You're a great girl. It was my own fault that I'm here none of yours. Take care of yourself" she told us.

Then The line went flat.

"Em don't do this to me!" I screamed.

The ladies came in and escorted me out.

Em was officially gone.

That night I bawled for the longest I have in my life.

Em was gone.

My best friend/sister.

I only had Rosie and Brooke now.

It wouldn't be the same.

It could never be the same.

Em always brightened everyone's day.

She was the bubbly one who could get serious when she wanted to. I'll miss her so much.

Selenas gone to prison for life and Niall was safe and sound at his flat now.

My job here is done.

I should leave.

I just finished packing all my stuff and tried to get out unnoticed.

Then Louis and Rose appeared.

"where do you think you're going?" Rosie asked.

"home. I'm done here and I don't think they liked me anyways. I guess this is goodbye" I told her.
