Joey's POV

Shane hasn't been getting better. He pretty much freaks out every night. I've learned to lock the door.

I hate seeing him so scared. I just want to hug him but that makes everything worse. Maybe I should try something else. I don't know what though.

Before we got in bed I grabbed Shane's hand.

Joey: Shane?

Shane: Yeah?

Joey: I want you to know that I won't hurt you ok?

Shane: I kno-

Joey: I just wanna make sure you know that before we go to sleep.

I kissed his cheek and then we got into bed. I wrapped my arms around his waist but not too tight.

I closed my eyes and eventually fell asleep. I was woken up by Shane's squirming.

Not again.

Joey: Shane it's ok.

Shane: Let me go!

I released him. He ran into the corner. He curled up into a ball. I slowly walked over.

Joey: Shane...

He didn't say anything. I put my hand on his shoulder and he freaked. He jumped away from me. He ran towards the front door.

Joey: Shane stop.

Shane: Don't hurt me!

Joey: I won't. I promise.

I tried to get near him but he ran to the door. I slowly walked up to him. When I put my hand on his shoulder he flung the door open and ran.

Joey: Shit!

I grabbed my tracker and looked at the screen. I found out that I should wait a few minutes after he stops moving before going after him.

I watched the screen. He kept running and running and he didn't stop. I heard footsteps coming closer.

Lisa: Joey!

Joey: What?

Lisa: Why aren't you chasing him?!

Joey: I'm waiting for him to calm down.

Lisa: He just went outside and now he's in the woods!

Joey: What?!

I started running down the hallway. Lisa guided me to where I should go. We eventually bumped into Chad.

Lisa: What happened?

Chad: One of the guards tried to stop him and he got scared so he ran outside.

Lisa: Why isn't anyone going after him?!

Chad: Because Joey has too.

Joey: I can't even tell where he is on this thing!

Chad: There's a button that will let you talk to him. Now go before he runs too far.

I sighed. Why can't I just go one night without having to chase Shane? It's so tiring.
