Chad's POV

I couldn't see a thing down there from where I was sitting. But I could everything.

Chad: 3, 2, 1!

I heard a loud explosion. Good. Everything is going according to plan.

Spy's POV

I heard a loud boom. As people ran past me to figure out what caused the explosion, I ran to Shane's room. I reached there and saw other soldiers waiting for me. I let them in quickly.

Spy: Hurry!

X: Shut your mouth!

Chad: No arguing. Get him out of there.

We detached everything from him. Then two soldiers picked him up. We dragged him over to our escape route.

I could see the hovercraft a and the other Tributes. I smile to myself.

X: Stopping smiling. Get moving.

Spy: Yes... sir.

We board the hovercraft. Chad actually congratulates me.

Chad: Good job. You didn't screw up like I thought you would.

He still isn't very nice to me. Oh well. I'll take what I can get.

Joey's POV

Lisa: They did it. Shane's coming home!

Joey: Yay!

I hug her tightly. I've never been happier. Shane is coming home!

Lisa: Well I'll come get you once he arrives and we get him situated.

Joey: Thank you so much Lisa. You have no idea how important Shane was to me. You're the best.

Lisa: We all just wanted you to be happy.

I smiled even wider. I've never been this happy. Shane is coming home. I can't believe it!

Lisa's POV

The hovercrafts are landing. First come the spies and soldiers. Then the other Tributes. They all look relieved to be safe again.

Then Chad walks out with two other soldiers carrying Shane.

Chad: I have information that may be critical to know before Joey sees him.

Lisa: What is it?

Chad: Follow me.

I follow Chad and the soldiers to a hospital room. They lay Shane on it and hook him up to a bunch of machine. Most connect to his head.

What the hell is going on?

Chad: We have a feeling that Shane has lost more memory than suspected.

Lisa: Ok? That means?

Chad: He may not know us or even see us as threats to his life.

Lisa: How can you tell if that's true?

Chad: Well, if he flips out after seeing us then we'll know. Just don't tell Joey.

Lisa: Fine. But how can we fix the damage they've already done to his memory?

Chad: Nothing. If the Capital can't keep treating him he'll slowly regain his memory and go back to normal. At least that's what we hope.

Lisa: What do you mean?

Chad: Somethings in his brain might be permanently damaged. He may forget people, events, or even himself.

Lisa: Then what the hell do we tell Joey?

Chad: That he needs to rest and when he wakes he is allowed to see him.

Lisa: Would I be lying by saying that?

Chad: Not entirely.

Lisa: Whatever. You're impossible sometimes you know?

Chad: Well I'm the person that saved your ass so be happy.
