Chapter 16

Ashley's POV

"hello?"

"a-Ashley?" I hear him mumble.

"Brady? Is everything okay? Why are you calling me during practice, you still have another hour?" I ask. He never calls me during practice.

"t-they found my c-cuts and b-beat me up." my heart drops and I run to my purse, grab my keys and run out to the car leaving Jaime standing there wondering what the hell is going on.

"Brady, stay there, I am on my way I will be there as fast as I can. Where are you?" I say and jump in the car and speed down the street.

"in the b-back alley p-please h-hurry." he says. His voice is slowly getting softer and softer, so as an instict I freak out and drive faster.

"Brady, please stay with me I'm almost there!" I pull into the school parking lot and get out and slam the door than run to the back alley of the school. I run around trying to look for him and I finally found him all beaten and bloody in the corner by a trash can.

"BRADY!" I yell and run over to him.

"oh god Brady, please answer me, please wake up!" I scream with tears slowly streaming down my face. I grab my phone and dial 9-1-1.

"hello, what is your emergency?"

"my younger brother just got beaten up and now he isn't waking up! Please help m-me!" I cry into the phone.

"alright ma'am, we have police and an ambulance heading towards you right now. They should be there any minute. Please remain calm and do not touch your brother." I step away from him and cry. I hear the sirens coming our way.

"they're here!" I yell and run over to them so they can find us.

"over here! Help please!" I scream and the paramedics run out of the truck and over to me.

"please remain calm, we can treat him. He is in critical condition and we need to take him right away." one of them says to me. I nod and they get Brady on a gurney and into the ambulence, and I climb in the back of it.

"RAWR!" I hear coming from my phone. That's Jaime's ringtone. Him and Bella were acting like Dinosaurs so I recorded them and set it as my ringtone for whenever Jaime calls.

"I c-can't answer. C-can you tell h-him what h-happening?" I say and shakily hand my phone to the medic. He nods and answers my phone while I just sit there and cry.

"this is a paramedic speaking. No she is just fine, her friend though is in critical condition and is being rushed to the emergency room right away." he wait's a minute before looking at me and asking

"do you want him to meet you there?"

"y-yes please." he nods and puts the phone back to his ear.

"yes she would like you to do that. Okay. Thank you. Goodbye." he hangs up and hands me my phone back right as we pull into the parking lot. They open the back doors and rush Brady in and I run next to his bed the whole time. Until it gets to a set of double doors. The nurses push me back as I try my hardest to get through, crying and screaming for them to let me but they don't.

"Ashley, Ashley calm down." I feel a pair of familiar arms around my torso pulling me back. It's Jaime.

"Jaime he's not okay! He is hurting and I need to be in there with him! I can't let him die just like mom and dad! I can't!" I cry into his chest. He strokes my hair and calms me down a little bit. I look behind him and Bella is standing there looking confused. That breaks my heart even more.

"shh ash. Everything is going to be fine, Brady is going to be okay, and he will be able to come home soon." he comforts.

"What did you tell Bella?" I ask and look up at him still crying.

"that he is sick and needs a doctor." I nod and wipe my tears away and look at Bella.

"is bubby okay?" she asks looking like she could cry any minute.

"yeah.. Bubby just needs a doctor right now." Jaime says and she nods.

"come here baby." I say and kneel down with my arms open. She runs to me and I hug her. She starts crying and I don't know what to do. Do I cry too? Do I not cry? What do I do?
