her eyes widened and her heart began to race.
wait no, why did his hand around her arm make her feel like this? because he's handsome. a handsome asshole, don't forget that last part.
"m-maybe."
shit shit shit, why did she have to stutter. she silently prayed to every single form of god that came to mind that he didn't notice.

"did i fluster you?"
his cocky smirk could be seen even in darkness and naeun cursed herself for being a lightweight, blaming her whirlwind of emotions on the alcohol.
"no, not at all. now let go."
she tried to escape his grip, but instead, he pulled her closer, their noses touching and sparks in their eyes sending electric shocks through both of their bodies.

changbin leaned in and naeun leaned back, continuing their little game of push and pull.
"i know you want this too, don't play hard to get."
naeun snickered and ruffled his hair, resting her hand at the nape of his neck.
"oh honey, i'm not playing. how can i play if i'm the referee?"
he was about to protest, when the fly of the tent behind them swung open and they came face to face with liv.

"give it a rest buddy. come on naeun, let's drink."
she took her friends hand and led her away from changbin and towards the campfire.
"thanks for saving my ass over there. but i think you have some unfinished business with our little tsundere back there."
she glanced at minho and pushed her towards his seat, causing liv to stiffen and shake her head, sending a pleading look naeun's way.

but the girl already sat next to chaehwa and jeongin, nursing on a bottle of beer. before liv could do the same and find at least a little drunk courage, he turned away, still focused on his phone.
"hey, wanna drink?"
liv asked, voice barely above a whisper, sighing at the boy's ignorance.

"seungmin what are you doing?"
minho questioned, not actually interested in his younger friends endeavors, who now shushed him and snuck up on sua, who was looking up at the night sky, trying to spot any constellations.

she didn't notice anything off, until two nostrils appeared, covering up the stars, and two hands landed on her bare shoulders with a loud smack. the scream she let out could be heard by areum and chan, who were awkwardly walking next to each other, both not uttering a single word.

"are you out of your god damn mind?!"
sua jumped up and furiously pushed seungmin away, who was roaring at his successful prank, his body shaking from laughter. that was until he noticed sua sniffling and wiping her nose.

"hey, i'm sorry. please don't cry."
he stepped closer to her and bent forward, trying to make eye contact, but instead of tears he saw a sinister grin and before he could pull back, sua flicked his forehead and left him wailing in agony.

now giggling, sua sat down next to seongmi, who was staring at felix, close to spilling her beer all over her pants, way too infatuated with the boy she met hours ago. at least in sua's opinion. she carefully took the glass from seongmi's hand and drank it all in one go, earning stares from everyone around the fire.
"what? this asshole over there made me do it."

changbin, who was looking for company after naeun let him bomb once again, sat down next to sua and pulled a bottle of whiskey from behind his back.
"i bet i can drink more than you."
a confident half smile spread across his face, but his eyes spoke a different language. he looked almost sad.
"i beg to differ."

a breeze tugged on liv's shirt, sending shivers down her spine. she pulled her legs closer to her body and breathed in shakily.
"just get closer to the fire if you're cold."
his cold voice gave liv goosebumps, or was it the low temperature of this summer night? she was about to stand up when a jacket flew over her shoulders.
"you didn't have to-"
minho shut her up by handing her a glass filled with vodka and downed his shot with ease.

"are you mad at me for not eating meat? or are you always this... odious?"
liv interrogated, turning to the boy who was quickly downing another shot.
"i'm not mad at you for not eating meat. you should've just told me. i would've prepared something different for you.."

for the first time this evening their eyes met, sending another shiver down the girl's spine, making the male opposite from her snicker a little.
"still cold? i heard alcohol heats up your body."
he handed her yet another shot, their fingertips touching, making his breath hitch the tiniest bit.

"i heard cuddles are more effective, though."
minho almost choked on his drink and pointed at the big groups of young adults sat around the glimmering camp fire, their voices and giggles blending into one wave of drunken philosophies.

"why don't you go over there and chat them up? i'm kind of waiting for a call.."
his warm aura turned ice cold on the spot again and liv's courage dropped like her cup, spilling vodka all over minho's and her shoes.

"innie, i'm bored."
chaehwa whined and pouted, looking up at jeongin with huge puppy eyes. she actually wasn't that bored but just needed a, at least slightly, valid reason to talk to the boy, who was just drinking and staring into the fire.

"why don't we play truth or dare?"
he responded, a cheeky smile playing on his lips. chaehwa could read his expression almost too easily, he definitely wanted to stir the pot and honestly, chaehwa wasn't going to hesitate to give him the spoon to do so.

"let's play truth or dare! we're all playing, no excuses and no chickening out."
she announced to the group and was met with a surprisingly positive response, the alcohol had already done its job for most of her friends.

"i'll go first."
hyunjin dryly declared, a bottle of beer in one hand and danbi's phone in the other, where he had previously saved his contact as 'thumper of your heart'.

hyunjin chose truth and chaehwa didn't hesitate to dive right into the juicy details.
"do you fancy someone here?"
while she spoke hell broke lose between the boys, everyone was yelling and hollering, nudging hyunjin and whooped him encouragingly.

"i actually do."
as if they weren't loud enough before hyunjin's answer, they now screamed bloody murder, jisung almost falling off the bench from cheering his friend on, yedam had to hold him down in order for everyone to not get hurt.

"who is it?"
chaehwa asked the question burning at the tip of everyone's tongue, but hyunjin was already seated again and just shrugged.
"you already asked one question."
while they encouraged him before, they shouted him down at his cheeky answer now.

"chae, pick chan or areum next."
jeongin had spotted the eldest two before anyone else, their awkwardness fueling his devious plan. when the only two voices of reason would get shut down, the fun would be limitless.

"chan, truth or dare!"
the disciplinarian almost dropped the bags at chaehwa's blunt request. he wasn't the type to play these kind of games, but he didn't want to be the party pooper for once and just blurted out, that he'd do a dare, not thinking about the consequences.

jeongin again whispered something to chaehwa, who didn't bat an eye at his request and almost tumbled down the chair she was standing on when she loudly announced the dare to the whole group:"make out with areum for one minute. if you refuse, you'll have to drink whatever we mix together."

areum's blood began to boil and chan's ears turned bright red, not able to even look at areum. it wasn't like he wouldn't like to kiss her, but in front of everyone? and not even a light peck but a make out?
"who knows what they'd put into that drink?"
areum whispered, more to herself, but chan heard and decided to throw out his last bit of self-respect.

i've decided to focus on a few characters per chapter so that it doesn't get too messy or confusing. i hope that's okay with you. the ones not included or barely mentioned will have the next chapter to themselves. ily💗
