woojin scanned the area, spotting miyun's red polka-dotted bikini almost immediately between high bushes of marram grass. he crouched next to the girl, who was trembling and sobbing quietly, her phone clenched in her hands. his hand lowered on her back, making the girl jump and look at him with red, empty eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks.
his mouth opened and closed again, her miserable state robbing him of the ability to think and speak. he started drawing circles onto her naked, cold skin and waited for her tense body to loosen up little by little.
she didn't need him to talk to her, she just wanted someone to be there for her in this moment, because if she had been alone, the panic and insecurities would have gotten the better of her.who knows what miyun would've done if woojin didn't show up. the girl's body shifted and turned to face woojin, who was wearing a tiny smile on his lips. his eyes looked like pots dripping in honey, the sunlight reflecting in them.
"thank you."her voice was barely above a whisper, her body was still shaking with the tears that streamed down her face, but the atmosphere seemed to be calmer than before.
"you don't have to tell me what happened. just tell me if you need help. i'll be there for you. always."a slight smile tugged on miyun's lips, before she fell forward, face burying in woojin's bare chest. her arms intertwined around his torso, the young adult's steady heartbeat calming her down immensely.
"we don't even know our signs."
her voice was muffled against his muscles, but woojin still understood, a giggle erupting from his mouth."i'm an aries. i think, at least."
he answered and caught a glimpse of her tired eyes, as she looked up from his body, slightly concerned.
"uhoh, i'm an aquarius. we're not that compatible, you know?"
the male shrugged and put his hands onto her shoulders, slowly massaging them making the girl relax immediately."well, we could just prove all these horoscopes wrong. if you're up for that challenge."
she looked at him again, this time for longer and with a confused expression.
"what are you trying to imply?"
he shrugged and patted her head.
"that i think you shouldn't always count on astrology to sort you out."chan ran up to the collection of beach towels and parasols the girls had placed, his wet muscles glowing in the afternoon sun.
"areum, watch out!"
yedam, who just got up to put on sunscreen, shouted out for her friend, but before areum could even wince, chan's wet body was on top of hers, wetting her bikini and water dripping from his hair onto her cheeks."what are you doing?"
areum screeched, shocked at chan's beautiful face so close to hers and the cold. she wanted to squirm, but chan already had both her wrists in his hands, pinning the girl down onto her pink towel.
"kissing you.""chan, wh-"
his lips pressed onto hers, cutting her off mid-sentence. she couldn't move, not just because chan had her pinned down but also because his lips on hers numbed her. and so she just kissed back, as if there was no tomorrow.
chan, who had been mad at areum for teasing him before, wasn't going to let go of her."omg ew, get a room, you two!"
jisung stumbled across the hot sand, yelling. in his hand was a pool noodle, god knows from where he got it from, but the squeaking noise it made once it came in contact with chan's back surely woke up the whole beach.seagulls flew up into the air, causing a ruckus, while chan collapsed down onto areum's body, groaning, overdramatizing the incident.
"get off me, you're heavy."
areum choked, trying to get away from the boy who had captured her heart in this short time span.
