An empty dresser and an hour later, Evan stood in his (now) empty closet. Clothes were strewn across his room, cluttering his floor, bed, chair, desk, everything.

"Where is it?" Evan muttered to himself. He's basically torn his room apart looking for his pride merch from last year. The boy stood in the center of the room, slowly rotating and inspecting every detail and crevice in his room. A small box peaked out from under his bed. Evan threw himself onto the ground and ripped the box open, sighing in relief when the telltale rainbow, striped suspenders, socks, hair pins, patched black jean jacket, and a small pink, blue, and purple flag. Thank god his mom was at work until much later. Evan wore some white vans, his rainbow ankle socks, white shorts, a white t shirt, his suspenders, his jacket, and clipped his little barrets randomly in his hair. The small boy inspected himself in his mirror. Usually Evan could care less about how he looked, but this was pride. PLUS he was going with his crush, so he took extra time getting ready.

As Evan was putting the final glitter freckles across his cheek, the doorbell rang, which made his stomach do somersaults. He dropped his brush without a second thought and rushed down the stairs, slowing down at the last second as to not look like he was rushing. Evan opened the door and was met with ( what he thought ) was a breathtaking spectacle. Connor donned his signature ripped, black, skinny jeans; a black tank top; yellow, pink, and blue stripes painted on his arms looking like flags; black combat boots; and last but not least, a pastel yellow flower crown pulling his hair away from his face slightly. His bangs still hugged the side of his face. Evan's heart melted.

"You look nice. I like the glitter freckles." Connor completmented. Evan swooned, still frozen in his open doorway.

"T-thanks. I like your flower c-crown."

The taller boy blushed slightly. "Thanks. I snatched it from my sister. You ready to go?"

Evan snapped out of his slight trance. "Y-yea. Lemme just grab my w-wallet." After racing across the house, Evan joined the other in Connor's car.

The beginning of the ride was seemingly uneventful. Connor kept looking over at Evan every other minute or so causing Evan to blush.

"D-do you have any music?" Evan asked, trying to make conversation. {And it's been too long since he's heard Connor's voice.}

Connor smirked and handed Evan a cord. "Here. You can pick the music."

"Doesn't driver u-usually pick the music?" Evan asked. Connor shrugged as he plugged in the aux cord to his phone and picked through his music, keeping one eye on the road the whole time. The taller boy set his phone in the cup holder after he picked a song.

Play song

A weird voice echoed through the car. Connor smirked as Evan furrowed his eyebrows.

"What's this?" Evan listened carefully, then the chorus hit, making Evan scream. "CONNOR MURPHY!" Evan looked at Connor, who was jamming out and bouncing up and down, singing along word for word. Evan laughed at Connor's antics. The song ended and Sweet Disaster by DREAMERS began to play. Evan was still a laughing fit and Connor laid his eyes on the sweet boy, not paying attention to the road. Luckly, Evan was. "CONNOR!" Evan threw his hand across the seats and grabbed on to Connor's hand, jerking it to the right so they would dodge the oncoming PT cruiser that was attempting to merge.

The two boys froze once they were back on straight, clear sailing, Evan's hand still on Connor's. The taller boy looked at the smaller boy and Evan pulled his hand away blushing.

"Why'd you put your hand back. It was fine where it was." Connor said. Evan figured he was joking so he just laughed slightly and blushed nonetheless.

Connor parked the car in the spot Evan had pointed out, and they both began the journey to the center of the city where the parade and booths were set up. Music and the sound of the large crowd echoed through the streets. The two boys pushed through the crowd, attempting to reach some of the booths selling flags and other treasures. Connor had no issue making his way through the crowd, but Evan on the other hand kept getting stepped on and shoved. Connor reached a clearing in the crowd and turned around only to find that Evan had not been following him. Worry panged through Connor's heart as he began pushing his way back through, yelling Evan's name at the top of his lungs, earning nasty glance from the people he passed. Evan's ears perked up at the sound of Connor calling his name. He wiped his tears and stood up off his curb.

"Connor!?" Evan called back. The brunette heard the small call back and darted toward it, almost running over Evan. Connor noticed the smaller boys tear stained cheeks. Gently, he cupped Evan's cheek and ran his thumb over it, wiping away the tears. Evan felt his face flush at this.

"I-I-i thought y-you abandoned m-me." Evan muttered. Connor felt his heart break. How could Evan think that?

Connor moved his hand from the smaller boys cheek and pulled his chin up to look at him. "Evan, I would never abandon you." In a leap of faith, Connor leaned down and captured Evan's lips in his. Evan was taken aback for a moment, face instantly turning so red a tomato would be jealous, but he melted into the kiss and instinctively wrapped his arms around the taller boys neck. Connor led the kiss on, progressively turning more lust filled, as he grabbed the smaller boys waist and pulled him as close as possible. Evan pulled away, both of them out of breath and red faced.

"I've waited for that since I met you." Connor muttered as he set his forehead against Evan's.

"T-trust me. The wait was worth it." Evan said back, stepping on his tip toes and reconnecting their lips.
