Honestly, I could spend everyday like this.
The day started out awful. My mom has to cancel our breakfast plans because she got called into work. Then, Jared left for Florida with his family. The only person left to hangout with was Connor, and I didn't know where him and I stood.
'Were we dating? Or at least a thing?' I kept thinking. I mean, he kissed me but I've never had something like that happen. He's like all new territory, and that doesn't even cover the fact that he's a guy.
He's tough and down to earth, and he doesn't deal with people's petty bull shit.
Anyway. After just sitting in my empty house reading, I picked up my cell and I called him. He sounded almost relieved; we hadn't talked since he kissed me in the park. Honestly I was happy he simply answered my call. I asked him if he wanted to come over and he instantly got up and headed over.
Then when I opened the door to let him in, he engulfed me in a hug and captured my lips in his. (With no hesitation from me)
So here we are: me with my poetry journal and Connor's bare chest playing as my pillow and his arms as my safety blanket. He runs his long, bony fingers through my curly hair, mindlessly curling each strand around his finger tips. I read some of my writing to him (all of the one's not about him obviously). I can tell he's listening intently to me as well as being deep in thought; I can tell this by the way his eyes dilate and he purses his lips slightly. The spring rain falls menacingly outside, filling the world with the smell of wet and mud.
I pause mid-sentence, the sound of Connor's heart beat brings heat to my face as our heart beats thump in sync. The only thing I hear is his heart and breath.
A faint clap of thunder in the distance shakes the foundation of the house, but he stays firm.
Connor seems to realize I stopped reading as he stops twirling my curls.
"Everything ok?" He says, true concern hinting in his smooth caramel voice. I lift my head off his chest as I meet his chocolate, hazel, green eyes. A shiver crawls up the back of my neck and into my hairline.
"Yeah." I say. It's barely a whisper, but it's enough. A smile lights up Connor's face, making his single dimple appear on his left cheek. I can't help but smile as I press a gentle kiss on his dimple. This simple gesture causes him to smile even more.
"Evan?" Connor says as his soft look becomes slightly serious.
"Yea?" I say. Connor rolls us over so I'm the one on my back (Again).
The gorgeous, lanky boy hovers over me; dark brown hair falling between us. Connor presses a soft kiss on my nose.
"Will you please be my boyfriend?" I don't know if it was butterflies or he just stabbed me in the stomach but my smile the biggest smile ever as my stomach does flips. I pull him down enough so I can kiss him.
We both pull away because we can't stop smiling.
"For real though... please?" Connor says as he pulls away. I smile sheepishly.
"Of course."
