Evan carefully skimmed through the news websites and blogs spreading information about the pride parade coming to a city just within an hour of his neighborhood. Excitement rushed through the boys veins but a problem occurred to him: who would he go with? Jared maybe? Though Evan could already see how that will go, but might as well try.

"Whatcha lookin at?" Evan's mother asked as she appeared over Evan's shoulder. Evan jumped and slammed his computer shut.

"N-nothing!" The anxious boy stuttered as he began to pack for school. Putting his laptop, book and miscellaneous pens and pencils.

"Geez. Secretive much, you wanna tell me what you were looking at?" She inquired as her eyes watched Evan zoom around the room as he searched for his shoe.

"It's nothing mom, just.." Evan paused and took a deep breath. "Did you need something?" He asked as calmly as he could as he pulled his other shoe out from under his desk, hitting his head on the bottom of the desk in the process. She paused for a moment, trying to remember what she actually came in for.

"Oh um," Hedi picked up a pill bottle sitting on Evan's desk. "Do you need any refills?" Evan snatched the bottle out of her hands and threw it in his bag also.

"I'm alright mom. I-I gotta get going if I'm gonna c-catch the bus." Evan began to exit the room, when a hand on his shoulder stopped him.

"I love you." Hedi reminded her son. Evan nodded and exited the room.

"You want me to WHAT?" Jared yelled as he slammed his locker shut, gathering the attention of everyone in that part of the hallway.

"Ssssshhhh." Evan hushed as he tried to blend in with the lockers, instantly regretting his decision of asking Jared to pride.

"Well if you wanted me to be quiet, you shouldn't had asked me to go to some.. gay fest with you-"

"Pride fest." Evan corrected him, wanting more than anything to just disappear.

"Same thing." Jared set his stuff down at their lunch table. Evan sat down and held his head in his hands, even Jared took pity on him. "Look, I'm not going to go. I don't want people to think we're fuckin or somethi-"

"Jared j-just s-stop." Evan looked up at Jared with blurry eyes. From a table over, Connor noticed Evan's upset and overheard Jared being rude. In a flash of confidence, Connor grabbed his lunch tray, walked over and sat next to Evan. Evan covered his face as he began to blush, hoping his crush didn't see his tears.

"Hey. What's going on." Connor asked as Jared eyed the two boys.

"H-hey C-Connor. It's n-noth-"

"Evan wants me to go to gay fest with him." Jared explained, making Evan cover his face even more.

"Do you mean the pride parade in the city?" Connor looked at Evan as the smaller looked at the taller one, somewhat surprised he knew what it was. "I'd love to go Evan, since Jared is a little bitch. I was gonna ask you anyway." Evan had wide eyes and a bright red face.

"I-I-I, ok. W-when do y-you wanna g-go?" Evam stuttered, barely able to keep down his excitement.

"I can pick you up tonight at 5, so we'll be there at 6?" Connor asked as he dumped out his tray, not really eating anything on it.

"A-alright. Sounds g-good."

"Watch out Connor. Evan might explode with his gayness." Jared said as Connor rolled his eyes.

"A-actually, Jared, I'm b-bi." Evan corrected him.

"That's so cool. I'm pan." Connor said as he caught Evan's eye, neither of them looking away.

Jared rolled his eyes. "Damn you two are so gay for eachother. Get a room!"
