i felt like i had been strangled to death, my neck was killing me. for the second night in a row, i woke up laid down on calum's bed, and arm wrapped around my torso yet again.

"you really like your sleep, don't you?" i hear him question tiredly.

"sure." i sigh quietly. "what time is it now?"

"quarter to midnight." he says. "fifteen or sixteen hours, maybe hitting close to seventeen. that's how long you've been out for."

"oh." i nodded. "you didn't have to bring me back here, you know."

"i know." he mumbles.

"you didn't have to the night before either." i said.

"i know." he repeats himself.

"then why did you?" i ask. "bring me back here, with you?"

"you don't sleep well when you're alone." he mumbles. "you slept really well, again."

"so what?" i ask, turning over to now face him. "it didn't matter before. besides, i highly doubt that's your reason anyways."

"why's that?" he questions.

"because if the same thing we're happening with luke, michael, or ashton, they wouldn't be sleeping in the same bed as you." i stated. "or am i wrong?"

"michael kicks in his sleep, ashton snores, and luke cuddles too much." he laughs. "you, love, stay perfectly quiet and still. i don't mind you like i mind them."

"right." i hum. "i should go—"

"no!" he rushes. "just stay. i know you don't like being alone, just stay."

"i'll stay a little longer." i said quietly. "if you convince me, but don't count on me to stay."

"that's the thing, i was hoping you'd be the one person that would." he says quietly.

slowly, his lips grow closer to mine until they were attached. he pressed his forehead against mine and closed his eyes.

"just stay." he said. " don't have the words yet, but just give me time. please, just stay."

"okay."
